For MLB prop bets when a player is removed early due to injury bettors go on X telling sportsbooks to "do the right thing" and cancel any Over the total wagers.

Am I not understanding something? Why would a book do that? If I had an over wager I would not expect a book to do that. It is just bad luck. If a book does that do they cancel the under wagers as well?

why do you think they would do such a thing?

    I remember this one...
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Aaron Rodgers left the game early in the first quarter due to injury.<br><br>As a gesture of goodwill we will be voiding bets involving Aaron Rodgers, including SGPs and returning the stake as Bonus Bets.<br><br>Bonus Bets will be credited within a few hours following settlement. <a href="https://t.co/FTfB6KR5K5">pic.twitter.com/FTfB6KR5K5</a></p>&mdash; bet365 US (@bet365_us) <a href="https://twitter.com/bet365_us/status/1701424292070646205?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw" >September 12, 2023</a></blockquote><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

How often do sportsbooks do this? I would not expect it.

Is that unfair to under bettors?

any guesses as to why they would do it? Personally I am with you as far as I would not expect them to do it either.

Not sure how unfair it is though. How would it be unfair for the under bettors?

I mean if I had Rodgers to throw over 300 yards and he is injured on the 3rd play of the game and the sport book decided void my bet, I will happily take it and lose it on some other bet. Maybe even win. I would probably remember them for doing so. If they didn't void my bet however, I wouldn't even think twice about it because that is part of the risk IMO. It just sucks. Also, if I had Rodgers under 300 passing yards and he was injured after the 3rd play, that is a winner.

Bet365 doing this is more out of promotion/increasing customer base in new markets. They are an old firm in the betting world so dealing with these types of bets have long been a part of their process... As far as player props are concerned most books will state:"player must start for action or player must have at least one plate appearance for action."

Legal American books kowtowing to pussies for the last few years in the name of looking like they’re on your side is what has created this attitude. I find it disgusting. Be a fukking man and live with the bet you made, you goddamn pussies
