TO More Intelligent Than Previously Thought?
Owens discusses McNabb, his own future in Philly

PHILADELPHIA -- Terrell Owens thinks the Eagles could be undefeated at this point in the season -- if they had Brett Favre at quarterback.

In an exclusive interview with ESPN.com contributor Graham Bensinger, the outspoken wide receiver also said injuries to Donovan McNabb have slowed the Eagles (4-3) this season.

"If Donovan wasn't hurt our record would probably be better," Owens said Thursday night.

ESPN analyst Michael Irvin recently said the Eagles would be undefeated if Favre was the starting quarterback.

Asked for his thoughts on Irvin's comment, Owens said: "That's a good assessment, I would agree with that just with what [Favre] brings to the table.

"A number of commentators will say he's a warrior, he's played with injuries. I feel like him being knowledgable about the quarterback position, I feel like we'd probably be in a better situation."

Owens returned to practice Thursday after suffering a sprained ankle in last Sunday's loss to Denver. He's listed as questionable for Philadelphia's game, but told ESPN.com, "I would say I'm closer to playing than not."

McNabb has been bothered by injuries all season. He's been hampered by a sports hernia since Week 1, and is also suffereing from a bruised chest and shin. McNabb missed his second straight practice Thursday with a rib injury and was downgraded to questionable.

Owens elaborated on a number of subjects, including the chances of his return to Philadelphia next season.

"I just want to be happy," he said. "If it's here then I would love to be here, if not you got to move on. & If there's a situation where they have a change of heart and come to their senses and pay me what I'm worth, then I'd be more than happy to be here.

"At this time I'm being honest with myself just trying to look toward the future and I just don't see myself really being here. It's not because I don't want to be here but I just don't foresee them doing the necessary things to keep me here."

Any team in the NFL short of the Colts would be better with Favre under center. Although I can't stand Owens, I would love seeing him in green and gold. The Packers could trade Walker for Owens straight up. They've got the same agent and neither appear to be happy where they are. There could be more to this story than meets the eye...

I wouldn't be suprised if TO just called it quits this year and rested his injuries. No sense him losing anymore market value with injuries.

No way in hell Owens returns to Phil...his ego and style never fit in there

Terrell Owens is a cancer. I couldn't imagine to many teams being undefeated with Favre after his 5 pic performance against the Bengals. ESPN should spend more time anaylising why the Eagle's defense gave up 49 on sunday, instead of why their offense didn't score 50.

TO does play to the media, but ESPN has to take a large portion of the blame for driving this story.

It was Michael Irvin who brought up the Brett Favre assessment on the Dan Patrick show. The network pushed it from there. ESPN is no longer reporting on sports, they're creating the stories themselves.

Whoa! Comparing me to JJ? Razz, that was a cheap shot!

Which teams in the NFL wouldn't be better with Favre? The Colts and who else? The Vikings are going to do better without Culpepper. McNabb is overrated. You could make a case for the Falcons or Bengals. Favre is on pace for 4200+ passing yards, 34+ TDs, and a 66% completion percentage this season. Does he throw a lot of picks, yes, but usually its because of a route running mistake his receiver made or his receiver tipped a pass he should have caught and it was intercepted. Very few of Favre's interceptions are actually his own fault. Trust me, I've watched every minute of every game the guy has played for the Packers. When he's done, he'll have broken most of Marino's records and should be considered the greatest QB to ever play the game. People are so unwilling to give Favre his due and I just can't figure out why. He's one of those guys that we won't realize how great he really was until he's done playing.

Being a Bears fan I have seen Favre do this to us many times. The man is very gifted and should stay in the game. As long as he has those bad games against us.

Terrel is retarted for making these statements in the middle of the season. He shuold realized hes not as good as he thinks he is. Hehe Buddy bear wrong as usual

AJE, did you even see the Packers-Bengals game? Two of the picks went off the hands of Packer receivers. Two of the picks are because the DB beat the receiver to the spot. I know all too well that Favre will put the ball in the air, me being a Wisconsin native, but I agree with Senator 7. Farve has been making his bones with nobody receivers for his entire career. Put someone with skills like T.O. out into the secondary and the possibilities are very scary.

You know I was just kidding you, Senator.

If we are going on just this year's basis, I would definitely have to say the Patriots, Seahawks, Bengals, Chargers, Broncos, Giants, Steelers, and Colts.
The only reason there are so many on my list is that you said "wouldn't be better with Favre." I'm not saying Eli Manning, for example, has been playing better than Favre this season, but its impossible to have watched the Giants and to still think that they would be better than 5-2 if Favre was playing.

Did you see the game? Deltha O'Neil first pic came on a underthrown pass, and on O'Neils second pic the ball was clearly thrown behind Donald Driver.
