Some notices from czech betting conference maybe interesting for people in US
I was at betting conference, where were chairmen from gambling commission of our DPT of finance (who claims illegality of internet gambling), bwin, dominant state gambling company Sazka and few legal locals.

I talked with Mr. Husak, chairman of the giant Sazka and he told me this (please do not blame me, that I say nonsense; it is his words and maybe /i hope/ it is only policy of fear that they use):
    (i) USA is going to block all international payments from 2007 that they do not like; they should every day release list of banned international accounts or banks.
(ii) USA will also make large effort on all states and int. banks to share info about their customers. States should change their laws and banks, which refuse, will not be allowed by USA.
(iii) ** payments should be controlled and blocked like wire transfers (I think he told something like 31 Aug 2007)

Maybe it is total nonsense, I bet it is.

Nothing surprises me anymore. Only time will tell where the US and offshore gaming will end up.

Its not worth the risk right now.

There wasn't enough money allocated to enforcement of the anti-internet gambling bill. Consequently, the banks must pay for it, or it won't get done. The banks are balking - I can't imagine this enforcement being effective.

The greater hurdle to players is that sportsbooks will voluntarily comply - simpyl decline US players. The other hurdle this bill creates is that it will be difficult for a giant standardized payment solution (like Neteller) to get established for US players.
