#107Originally posted by lakerboyAbsolutely there are plenty of them. That still doesn't excuse what miller did. You are missing that point. Miller is a POS. If you are going to go down that lane then you should call him on it and tell him too bad fukk you miller.
What you really are missing is that miller learned that at home and that's the problem to me and most normal people. He heard that stuff at home and took it outside. You missed that part. But it's OKAY you will NEVER get that part.Comment -

#112He was already charged with assault?
The kid deserves to be reprimanded, but stealing his future away is going too far. Maybe he needs to be reformed, but at some point he deserves another NHL opportunity. You can't end his entire future for something he was already charged for. In that case, no one who goes to prison should ever be able to get a job, ever, even if they did something at 17 yrs old and served 25 yrs for it.
Not surprised though. The next few generations -- I would be worried for all our kids to be honest. If they make one mistake, they are finished.
The strange part is most of the ppl who expose this kind of stuff online, they don't give a rat's ass about diversity and inclusion and fairness and all that. They get off on exposing someone. The ppl that stew these stories are more cold hearted than you have been led to believe.
We are all being conditioned, every single day, and our emotions are manipulated to the extreme.
I did some crazy shit when I was 14 too that my adult self would never agree with or even believe. People are capable of change.
Our society though? It's not capable of forgiveness.Cause Sleep is the Cousin of DeathComment -

#115Originally posted by packerd_00I split high school between England and Canada. Actually my dad was a Teddy Boy, and he got me into the Rocker subculture. Dont know if you've ever heard of the 59 Club?
PackMan---
Thank you for the response.
I assumed the Teddy Boyesque bent due to your description of you and your friends'
less than honorable activities.
The 59 Club is new to me. Although, I have fond memories of Studio 54, The Continental Club. and Danceteria during the '70s.
The activities in the private rooms of the after-hours clubs were not to be repeated.Comment -

#125Originally posted by Mac4LyfeKermit - the mom said he never apologized to them. He completed a form for a court order document where he said he was sorry but never called them, wrote them an apology. The other boy went to their house to apologize. This kid is an ass and a dummy.
This was before he got signed:
In a statement that accompanied his signing, Miller confessed that he had bullied his classmate, saying that he deeply regrets the incident and has apologized to the individual in question.
"Since the incident, I have come to better understand the far-reaching consequences of my actions that I failed to recognize and understand nearly seven years ago," Miller said. "... To be clear, what I did when I was 14 years old was wrong and unacceptable. There is no place in this world for being disrespectful to others and I pledge to use this opportunity to speak out against mistreating others."Comment -

#131Originally posted by Mac4LyfeKermit - he came out with that statement prior to being signed recently. Unfortunately the part where he said he apologized to the individual in question was a lie. He never did. He never called and spoke to the kid or the mom in all those years. He never told them he was sorry. Then he writes a bullshit letter when it came to light. That probably pissed off the Bruin players more. Dude is a psychopath.
I don't know if he is a "Psychopath" but he certainly is stupid.

#133Originally posted by Mac4LyfeIt was just 3 years ago and it was a daily occurrence. You say you don't see ruining the mans life, but it was he himself that ruined his opportunity by being a dick. The NHL is a privildge. He gave up his right by doing what he did and will be at the mercy of that league to let him join if ever. He can work at the post office. Well actually, maybe not but that is his wrongdoing.

#135Originally posted by Mac4LyfeI read something that said he just turned 18. A lot of sketchy shit out there. His Wiki says the following. Sounds like he was doing this for a very long time and the apology piece is fukked up if he thinks just by the letter being read in court that that would suffice.

#136Fukk this kid and Fukk the Bruins too.
There is NO PLACE for Bullying ANYWHERE at ANY age!!!
Kid from my home town was drafted by the Atlanta Braves as a pitcher. One year later he was caught and convicted of stealing $50 worth of goods. The Atlanta Braves terminated the relationship immediately. That's what the Bruins or any other sports organization should do also. The kid is a Rotten Apple. And I don't care if it "ruins his adulthood". There are CONSEQUENSES to your actions in life at any age.
If this kid wants to play in the NHL then AT THE VERY LEAST they should make him do some community service.Comment -

When my special needs son was in High School the QB & Captain gave up his study hall to work with our son every day. Tyler Murphy went to the Florida Gaters where injuries at QB valted him into the starting role.
From Wikipedia... Tyler Murphy was unknown, but quickly became popular as he led Florida in a 31–17 win over Tennessee. Murphy then became the starting quarterback, and lead the Gators to a 24–7 win over Kentucky and a 30–10 victory against the Arkansas Razorbacks. After initial success, the Florida Gators lost their final seven games of the 2013 season.
Although initially he went undrafted by the NFL, the Steelers signed him from the usigned free agent list and began to play him at WR. Injuries cut short his professional career but we continue to keep in touch with Tyler because he is a fantastic human being.
This is what happens to GOOD people. Good things happen to GOOD people.

If my kid was the victim I would be going scorched earth on the Bruins thinking an Instagram message six years later would make it right too.
Most things we do at 14 we should be given a 2nd chance for, but Miller sounds like he did it for many years before 14 and still thinks the same way.
What about that black kid recently posted about who was disrespecting his gym teacher and the school cop was called to arrest him? Would you be upset if a sports team said no-thanks to hiring him based on that viral video in a few years time?
A couple of you posting here to say this is just woke culture were in that thread saying the black kid is obviously an animal (your fave word in threads about black people) and deserved what he got..Comment -
