Boston i would not trust the Mets in a 3 game playoff considering there past history in the last 6 years

Braves are tough this season and hard to bet against. Only a one run game but Mets are up. I bet the Braves yesterday and won cash.

if the mets need to play the WC round that will kill their playoff rotation.

Both Aces are worn out and old

Marte being out kills the offense

                  RIP Mets

Lifelong Braves fan here. After tonight, with the Braves now 1 game up in the division…even now, tomorrow’s game is the only one that matters. If the Mets happen to win in Atlanta Sunday night, they’re right back to being tied for 1st in the division with Atlanta. If that happens, and both teams win the last regular season games this week…the Mets (by default) will be the NL East champions. They lead the Braves head to head in their regular season matchups against one another this year. Therefore, a tie for 1st in the division at the end of this week will automatically give them the NL East pennant.

I obviously hope the Braves win Sunday night. Whoever ends up winning this division will have a MUCH EASIER path in the playoffs. My gut feeling tells me the Mets win Sunday night. After losing 2 nights in a row to the Braves with their absolute aces (DeGrom/Scherzer) pitching…the majority of people are thinking they’ve blown it already. Unfortunately, their starting pitcher tomorrow (Bassitt) has been quietly catching up to DeGrom AND Scherzer as far as being top notch, almost always reliable top spot starters in their rotation. Then, on our side (as a Braves fan,) we have Charlie Morton taking the mound. He’s not been quite as consistent as you’d like this year…especially with such a pivotal game on the line.

If Morton has even close to his best stuff Sunday night, I think the Braves win. It should be fairly easy to know what kinda stuff he has on the mound pretty early on in the game. When he’s “off,” he’s walking a lot of guys, not locating his pitches well whatsoever, and his pitch count tends to jump up rather quickly in those cases; (obviously.)

I sure hope my gut feeling is wrong, but I’m picking up serious vibes of a game that ends something like this:

                      N Y M : 3
                      A T L : 2

🤞🤞🤞 (Please let me be wrong…)

getting there is not enough given how "good" they have been this year.

this little collapse of the division is typical mets.

As an Astros fan...I hate both the Braves and Mets. Out of the 3 World Series that the Astros played in since 2017. The Braves were the toughest. Dodgers were the easiest.

Exactly. Anyone surprised by this doesn’t follow baseball much.

I was at the game at Citi Field on Wednesday and they struggled to beat the Marlins and the girls team batting order they are throwing g out there in the final weeks of the season.
