Sports are all about players. Even Shaq said that he never used to listen to Phil Jackson, he would do whatever he wanted and call out the plays he wanted. Superstars carry teams not coaches. Jax is one of the worst rosters this year, but they still should have about 4 wins.

Shot, I've been thinking about this for a while. Lawrence looked good at Clemson...but Swinney has also turned that program into a recruiting machine (2nd to Alabama).

If you go back a decade, Clemson was more localized recruiting. Georgia/SouthCarol/Clemson recruit the fertile South Carolina/Georgia states. Also, state of North Carolina did not have great teams for some time...so those three could tap state of NC. Now, Clemson dips into Florida and gets more than their share.

My feeling is that Lawrence AND Wilson from this recruiting class are too light to be NFL standouts. Look at how they measure up to the stature of great NFL QBs. Don't pass the sniff-test.

i saw trevor lawrence in couple games and this rookie QB has heart he plays 100% but now next year with a NEW HC and better team chemistry and no longer have to play in london i think Jaguars gain some respect

Urban Meyer always a dumb hire at JAX. What the hell has he accomplished with a QB? Lawrence needs a pro guy to develop him further. Urban’s best PRO QB was Alex Smith. Most of his QB’s terrible in pros. Guy can’t score 3 god damn points in a league that is setup for high scoring. Pathetic.

Hiring Bevell as OC was such a crazy decision. Why that guy instead some young guy with a future? It's amazing Bevell has continued to work in the NFL after what he did to Seattle in that Super Bowl.

Spot on about Meyer's quarterbacks. The best one he ever had was Burrows, and he never would have played him.

I just want to add... everyone knows I hate Meyer too. He's another head coach that needs a QB to be successful... otherwise he freaks out. Don't know who or what enticed Meyer to Jacksonville? Had a great TV job... and it's totally true I'm sure colleges are talking to Meyer right now as we speak. But Meyer is kicking his own ass right now for not staying with Ohio State... this is the mystery to all mysteries... why he left? This guy is so ancy... he doesn't know a good thing when he sees it?? Oddest move in history.
