I've been betting on sports and gambling for about 5 years now. I still consider myself a novice and I still have a lot to learn. I'm just a regular dude that works at a warehouse working a 9-5 job. I've never really had a lot of money and always valued what I have and I think that's what a lot of gamblers miss.
You have to value what you have. You have to know it. You have to see it. You see a lot of threads about money management on here and they are good don't get me wrong but the bigger picture is staying focused when your up and winning. It's so easy to become reckless because you have a good stack and your up not knowing that around every corner in the sports betting and casino gambling world you can dive right off a fukin cliff in a blink of an eye.
Being a winner is just as dangerous because you can so easily become to confident and think you can beat anything or anyone and that's when it hits you, a big losing streak and the walls and fukin roof caves in. It's in those moments when you find out what your made of and how you deal with that kind of stress. It can fukin ruin people. I've seen it.
You have to have that iron stomach to deal with loss. Losses will come and in bunches and it hurts like a motherfuker but if you just take a step back, analyze and dissect it more often than not you can pinpoint the wrongs. Now sometimes we just have bad beats and there really is nothing you can do about it. A fumble, bad pass, a half court 3 point shot that kills you or a puck from the blue line that deflects into the net in OT...oh well you gotta stomch that shit and eat it and move on. Learn to focus on the next game and don't dwell on the bullshit and trust me I know that is not easy to do but over time you can develop a thick skin if you focus.
In my opinion it's the discipline of winning and the iron stomach of losing that makes a better gambler along with many other things and NOT how big your bankroll is.
Good luck tonight and cash those fukin tickets!!
