But it will usually be twice in one month that does not really make it a "blue moon" until the 4th full moon happens in 3 months. A common misconception.

I really don't have time to go back and forth with you on what and what is not a full moon / blue moob and what is not.
It's trivial.
I took two earth science classes, oceanography and meteorology fascinate me.
I was taught it's the second full moon of any calendar month.
But I stand corrected, the last full moon before last night was at the end of July, not the beginning of August.
Oops, I had a brain fart on a piece of trivia.
I don't have time to research every trivial thing I post on a free message board.
Sometimes I'm wrong, most times I'm not.
Thanks for dropping by noob.Comment -

#38Hey Coach.
Your old stomping grounds (Hoboken) is a swimming pool right now.
Flooding on the streets there by the Hudson River.
Pastone of Accueather just about nailed it on the head.
He said New Haven Ct. would be ground zero, actually Westerly RI was.
That's just up the I-95 north some.
Norwich (Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods) Ct. is getting hammered, that's a 50 mile drive north from me.
The center hit 50 miles give or take north of me.
The science geeks got this one pretty much right.Comment -

It moved 50 miles to the center of the state, off the coast.
Coach?
You ever study earth science?
First month of classes all the profs will tell you this is not an exact science.
Might never be. But the advances in the last 20 years have been extraordinary.
You can't predict the unpredictable.
Any analyst will tell you.
a) Collect all the fact and data, not bits and pieces, but all the dats.
b) Once aforementioned data has been collected it analyze it to form your best conclusion as to what the outcome would most likely be.
Once again, you can't predict the unpredictable, but with all the proper data and analyzed your conclusion would be 99.9 percent more accurate than the best dart throwing guesser.

Rain is really picking up now, but the wind calmed down some.
But there was major flooding and a lot of roofs got destroyed earlier this morning, but that was 40 - 60 miles to my northwest.
I'm just glad it sheered off the coast some, believe me, and you know this, you don't want a hurricane/ 'Nor easter hanging around the coast for a day.

#46Thanks man, so far, so good.
Another 12 to 18 hours to ride out here.
Here's your update.
Know what I call this one?
A minor major storm.
Not a an epic, but this one is a major pain in the ass.
Hey, I we got hit right in the jaw with Super Storm Sandy.
Five days without electricity, knocked all of us back to the stone ages.
I'll never forget.
Update.

Yeah.
We're fine. Thanks.
NBC (CT ch. 3 ) has a report on crushed roofs in Nagatuck.
\
Funny you should mention pics.
I was checking the recycle bin I keep on my back deck (covered of course) and noticed the winds dropped from 50 to 10 mph, but the rain is really steady, pretty hard, but now blowing.
Yeah, we're safe, thanks, going to check my car now and snap some shots.Comment -

Yeah, you're right.
On Penfield we have a ton of water, some erosion, not much.
Scattered wind damage in the state.
The storm took a turn at the last minute, spared the coast.
That's what I'm saying.
Just went outside.
Soupy humidity. Real sticky.
Medium rain, driving though.
Slight wind, say 10 mph.
Could have been a lot worse if it hugged the coast.
It didn't. I don't want to live through another Super storm SandyComment -

#65I wish all of you living through this well, having lived in Fl forever it seems tropical storm’s and hurricanes pretty much are never as bad as predicted . Having lived and stayed during to many to count, including hurricane Michael 3 years ago with 155 mph sustained winds, although they topped out at my house at 118 mph according to the weather channel, it can be scary as hellComment -
