And DeSantis and the Seminoles have said they are already prepared to combat those idiots who are against it.
Florida's & the Tribe together will be tough to fight financially.
Disney who's been against it all and helped trick voters into voting for amendment 3, just might back off a little with their park issues and could, or should, even realize that legalized sports betting will actually benefit them in many ways.
Also Fanduel & Draftkings actually are involved, so it's likely they already have a preliminary agreement with the Seminoles.
DraftKings, FanDuel drop $20 million into initiative to legalize sports betting in Florida
July 13 2021
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Two major online platforms have dropped $20 million into an effort to legalize sports betting in Florida and direct the state’s proceeds from the popular activity to education.
DraftKings and FanDuel each contributed $10 million to the Florida Education Champions political committee late last month, according to the state Division of Elections website.
The committee filed a proposed constitutional amendment to legalize sports betting, in a move that could unravel a $2.5 billion deal struck by Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Seminole Tribe of Florida.
“Thank you to DraftKings and FanDuel for stepping up to the plate in an incredible way to kick off our amendment process that stands to help all Floridians. Our amendment will direct hundreds of millions of additional dollars toward Florida’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund and open up the market for online sports betting to competition,” David Johnson, chairman of the political committee, said in a press release issued Monday.
The sports-betting behemoths’ $20 million contributions comprised the total amount of money collected by the committee in a campaign report filed on Monday when campaign finance reports were due. The onslaught of funds comes as committees try to head off a new law aimed at making it harder to pass constitutional amendments.
The law, passed by Republican legislators this spring, would place a $3,000 limit on contributions to political committees as they collect petition signatures for ballot initiatives. The limit would make it much harder --- critics say impossible --- to collect the required petition signatures.
The law (SB 1890) was slated to take effect July 1, a week after the multimillion-dollar contributions to the sports-betting initiative. But U.S. District Judge Allen Winsor blocked the law, saying it runs afoul of the First Amendment.
You are misreading this. As currently constructed, FanDuel and DraftKings and others are shut out. They are part of the lawsuit against. In addition, they are trying to get casinos and sports books on the ballot as required by Amendment 3 to allow new gambling. The Seminoles want a monopoly, but if the new initiative passes, which I hope it does, the and only then will sportsbetting have multiple options like other states. It will be a miracle if it starts in October.

Fukk the Indians, they already have Blackjack and slots, and they're charging $500 a night for a basic room to stay in Hollywood. They're already making plenty of money.
Have a state-run book and use the profits for things that will benefit the taxpayer.

Here is the kicker...... There is a 100 mile limit on the Seminole reach. If voters pass a ballot measure to approve casinos and sports betting, North Florida would get the casinos, and South Florida would be stuck with the Seminoles.
Several companies are hoping to persuade Floridians to end the tribal monopoly on sports betting.
Three out-of-state gaming giants — Las Vegas Sands, FanDuel and DraftKings — have put $37 million into multiple ballot efforts to influence the future of sports betting and casino gambling in Florida.
Las Vegas Sands Corporation, controlled by Miriam Adelson, the wife of the company’s late CEO, Sheldon Adelson, is pushing two new ballot initiatives that ask voters to approve as many as three new casinos in Florida and allow existing North Florida card rooms to offer casino games.
[Adelson is reportedly interested in building a new casino near Jacksonville and is considering buying an existing gambling license from a parimutuel to allow Las Vegas Sands to get into the sports betting operation.

Battle of the Giants for sure
Florida+ Seminoles have an unlimited amount of money to fight 20 more of those big dogs.
Who knows what will happen.
Seems like it will be difficult to overturn since it was the state themselves who signed the deal they thought was best for them.
Also, there was nothing being done at all to get legal sports betting to the state until DeSantis, Florida, and the Seminoles decided to bust their azzes to make it happen.
Now here comes these other companies like leaches trying to come in after the fact.
Same thing goes for when New Jersey and just a few other states fought beside each other to get PASPA overturned, but then other states who were too chicken sh!t to stand with them, all coming in taking advantage now.
Yes there needs to be competition but where were these others in the fight before??
Typical Draftkings and Fanduel.
Distanced themselves from sports betting for years and said they had no affiliation with it, but once it's legalized, here they come.
I despise those 2 companies they are 2 of the biggest hypocrites you'll ever hear of

DK and FD will be just fine.
They just partnered up with the tribes here in Connecticut eliminating all the competition in doing so.
FanDuel and DraftKings now enjoy a duopoly in Connecticut, with Yahoo exiting the state marketplace in response to a new law that requires any sports gambling or fantasy sports operator to first reach a cooperative agreement with either the state lottery or one of its two sanctioned tribes.
As of July 1, Yahoo Fantasy Sports can no longer offer paid fantasy sports contests in the state of Connecticut due to recently passed legislation.

well montana and dc are no bueno they messed up with hired this company to run things and not player friendly, i'm guessing new jersey which has competition will have the best lines
tennessee lines look alright again with competition, we might have bad lines here in fla since there is no competition they can set lines however and it's take it or leave it

Most USA books cannot afford to give reduced juice too many expenses and plus they realize players do not care because more interested in action vs winning
They know most gamblers want to lose

I'm not saying they should give reduce juice, I'm saying they should give the industry standard -110.
If you can't make it work pedaling $0.20 lines you're doing something wrong.

can we get
a bar/sportsbook (brick and mortar) in Clearwater?
that would crush Vegas for most - easier to get to and with many good options to eat, open room to lay on the beach, etc
