So is this the move now from every butt hurt conservative? Blame everything they can on liberals? People aren’t watching the olympics because nbc is blocking everything when it comes to sharing highlights from it. Also it’s at really bad times where most people are spoiling the outcomes before they are putting it on tv.

Just asked my son why he thinks if the corporations spending the money wanting to target "woke" buyers aren't making money off it, why do so many corporations advertize that way? And why does he think "everybody" hates it? Surely they don't want to waste millions making ads that "everybody" is turned off by.
His best answer was the corporations are all in on a conspiracy and no longer advertize to make sales but are happy to lose money to push the lefty agenda whilst their sales die.
And a little bit of me died inside...

Corporations don’t embrace left wing talking points to make money, they embrace these ideas to keep the left from coming after them.

It's all taped delayed here in Houston and there's only 2 or sometimes 3 channels, so you miss most events. You see an event and think it's live only to find out it was played the day before. Then they show games of countries that we don't give a shit about. NBCSN is currently showing rugby with Fiji and New Zealand. Why should I give a shit about that match? They also do not display a user guide, so you have no idea when and what events are upcoming. It really sucks.
Which is why I have IPTV. One of my service providers has about 40 Olympic channels (Astro live broadcast are very good). Another one has about 25 channels.
Many years ago I use to have Bell Canada (before they started spot beaming) and their Olympic coverage was the bomb. They had one channel that listed all the events currently being played and what channel to find them and also had a guide of upcoming events. They also had a picture in picture of key events in progress.Comment -

I'm fine with the overall coverage NBC has done so far.
There's a ton, and I mean a ton of labor that goes on behind the scenes televising this on NBC, their cable affiliates (USA network for one) Peacock streaming...
The master command center is down the road here in Stamford Ct right off of I-95.

I know it's the national sport of the Kiwi's BUT it is not very popular in the US. It's probably around 15 or 16 of favorite sports of Americans behind Ultimate Frisbee. It used to be more popular than Lacrosse but Lacrosse has overtaken it the last 5 years. They keep telling us that rugby is the fastest emerging sport but I don't see it. We don't even have NCAA sanctioned men's rugby. Only women's.
My point was that with only 2 or 3 channels showing Olympic content, why is NBC showing non US events? I'm watching Japan and Korea play badminton right now. Most Americans do not watch badminton or rugby normally. Why would they watch countries that don't involve them? That's not how you get people interested. Show the USA playing badminton (maybe they did but I didn't see it). I believe the ratings are low because NBC has no clue how to promote and are showing shit most people don't want to watch. Then they show shit tape delayed a day later. WTF?

How are you finding events??? A quick google search and a lot of people are complaining how NBC is showing these Olympics. Granted, they didn't get a break with so many star athletes failing. But here are a few comments that caught my eye.
Today I tuned in to the USA women’s beach volleyball team trying to play a match in typhoon weather, which might sum up the Olympic viewing experience: The event has been overcome by a figurative typhoon.
I watched the USA Men’s Basketball Team match on Sunday while reading the paper — there was no reason to pay close attention because a news bulletin several hours before announced they had lost to France. The result for the U.S. women’s gymnastics team was also broadcast far in advance, as you say. You would have had to stay in a closet all day if you didn’t want to know the outcome before turning on your TV tonight.
I threw up my hands Monday when I found a rugby match on during NBC’s primetime programming block — and not Osaka, who was playing her match live on the Olympic Channel. The most famous female athlete in the world was being treated almost as a sideshow on a small stage when she should have been in the center ring. The outdated model of packaging the day’s events in primetime rather than showing one of the most anticipated stories of the Games live illustrated the network’s haphazard approach to the Olympics, which the age of social media has cast in an ever-harsher light.
It was Tuesday, though, that Olympic plans went south fastest. The hype surrounding the women’s gymnastics competition has been steadily building for months and hit a crescendo Sunday during the qualifying events. To hear this morning that Biles had pulled out due to mental health issues after making some mistakes in the preliminaries was really heartbreaking. Everything seems to be going wrong, and that — on top of the logistical issues — makes it hard for an Olympics fan like me to maintain interest in watching.
Ultimately, my disappointment is not in the competition itself, but in the sense that the Olympic television I grew up on has not grown up with me.In my job I often say that people don’t watch TV the way they used to, so we can’t cover TV the way we used to — and NBC has unfortunately failed to reinvent the model developed in Sydney, Athens and Beijing for an ecosystem now dominated by streaming platforms and social media.Comment -

I subscribed to Peacock from day one primarily because I'm a gigantic Dick Wolf drama fanatic, and my wife is a huge fan of "The Office" and that genre.
Peacock sends me updated emails as to what events are on what channels.
