If it really was a 99.9% chance of winning, Kelly Criterion says the correct amount to bet is a little over 99% of bankroll. Less than Half-Kelly, which I aim for would mean 40% or so. If these "some gamblers" had a meaningful opinion, they should be betting $60,000 instead of $600.
