    Atlantic City memories
Seen a post about the Taj Mahal in the Rounders thread. Lost interest in AC shortly after the Wild Wild West opened than when Borgata was built. After that just made trips to Vegas. Loved AC in the 1990s though.

What a great feeling it was going down that escalator at the Taj with the huge chandeliers with a wallet full of cash. As was the rush driving in from the expressway winding down the window to pay the final toll booth smelling that stinky ass Bay air knowing that soon you would be getting your gamble on. Loved that place. Always seemed to do well at the Taj and the tiny Claridge nearby donating to the homeless Veteran in the wheelchair with his legs tucked under along the way. Hey it was good-luck. My bankroll always got raped at the Showboat and Trump Plaza though. Learned my lesson the hard way there playing roulette using the Martingale system as a young dumb gambler. What a kick in the balls that was.

Now it was time to get yelled at by the Indian gas station attendant for pumping your own gas. I am sure this happened to others not knowing it was against the law to pump your own gas there. Cheapest gas prices in the Country too. "Relax chief, I got it." Thinking your doing him a favor and him tweaking out.

Than came the drive home. There was also no worse feeling than driving the AC expressway home broke with all those penetrating diseased looking deer everywhere that you thought were going to run in front of your car in the early morning hours to make your night a total penetrating disaster. Add in speed traps EVERYWHERE.

Have not been there since 1989, only casinos I went inside were Caesars and Bally's.
Taj Mahal wasn't up yet. Stayed at some dump motel near the shoreline for 20 bucks a night.

Definitely the worst part, especially after a losing night. I remember doing 20+ hour poker sessions then driving 90 minutes home in that weird state of being wired from all the uppers and beyond tired from lack of sleep.

Once they opened PA casinos, I knew I was never going to AC ever again.

Lots of great memories from AC.

                            Original post has similar memories.

Ive been going there since I was 21. Heck, I remember driving down from upstate NY as a kid with my dad and uncle. I remember having them play blackjack for me (my money) at Caesars as I starred down through the glass on the 2nd floor.

When I lived in Texas I remember stopping in AC for a night on the way home to NY and then also stopping for the night on the way back home to Texas.

When I lived in Virginia Beach for a few years, I’d make many weekend trips to AC.

For the last 15 years or so I’ve made many, many trips there from upstate NY. Many bus trips to Golden Nugget on the junket. Plane rides to Borgata and Harrahs. Many weekend car rides with friends.

My favorite place when I was younger was the Hilton/Atlantic Club. Had lots of luck there and plenty of comps. Loved getting drunk at the Dizzy Dolphin with the free booze, listening to the bands, and picking up chicks. If you struck out, there was always nice hookers hanging around the lobby area.

Once that place went to Shit, my business shifted to Taj Mahal. I used to love going over to Boogie Nights when it was in the Resorts. Always plenty of pussy in that place and me and my friends got so much pussy at that place. It was MILF City! I was sad when they moved that club to the Trop. It’s still a good club but has turned into a younger crowd now (or am I just getting old?).

Once Taj went to shiT, I shifted my business to Borgata. Borgata is very nice but they eventually ate me alive after they started giving me VIP status.

I also have great memories of family trips to AC. Kids running around on the beach, day trips to Wildwood, etc.

Also attended the SBR mini bash a couple years ago with allabout$$$, USCphilly, Big O, and Mackballs. I’ll never forget the Mackballs meltdown on day 1 of March Madness. Guy went 1-15 and his only winner when he tailed me. He took it in stride though. Good guy. I remember we sat at the VIP area and drank for 14 straight hours.

Its very sad to see AC the way it is now. We’ll never have those days again. Ghetto blacks are starting to take that place over. Most casinos don’t do upgrades. Security is terrible. Rooms are getting old and run down.

Have to admit, I miss the old AC.
Lot's of memories, losing days and nights.......lol.
Drive North about 1/2 hr to Mud City Restaurant (which was wiped out last hurricane) and enjoy a meal to die for. (since rebuilt)
I'd be playin and my wife biking the boardwalk. Kinda rotated between the Trop, Borgata and the Hilton.

Hilton was good in the winter cause they had those overhead heaters at the front entrance - good place to chill and enjoy a cigar + you get to see the women checkin in.

Stayed a couple times at the Best Western (blk over from the boardwalk) pretty tough area back then (1995). Convivence store right across the street was robbed twice in the same week - caught the perp in the bus terminal - moron.
Must of eaten about 50 subs from the White House.........when down and out.....

Sad to see what it has become, with so much going for it.

I still enjoy going to Atlantic City, me and my friends have had many great trips there over the years. Lots of big wins and always free rooms and great meals. Shame that the PA casinos destroyed them so badly. Too many casinos now so it's not even special for those to travel to the shore anymore. I'd go at least 5-6 times a year for either the Borgata tournaments, WSOP Circuit or just for birthday trips. I'd also stop there for a night or two when we head to Wildwood or Cape May.
