You can't compare them based on points per game or any other metric. Do you realize how many more points per game are scored nowadays? The rules and strategies are completely different.

This is not true yes the 90's and 2000's were lower scoring but the 80's had tons of points.

In Birds prime the league average was over 110 points per game at lower efficiency so they actually played faster.

The superstars of the 80's would be good but not great players today; yes, including Jordan.

I think the super athletic big men of that era would still be very dominant. Hakeem, Robinson, and Shaq. Shaq 92 I know.

I disagree. IF the best from any era had all the benefits of todays athletes, they would do just fine.
Travel, nutrition, training, healthcare......the list is endless.

If the greatest athletes from even the 50s and 60s brought their mental toughness along with the modern advantages, some would still dominate. Jim Brown. Willie Mays. Oscar, Kareem,West. And yes, Jordan would have figured it out and still been Jordan.

On a West Coast trip in 1986, Bird told the entire Dallas Mavericks bench that after the time out, Ainge would inbounds the pass to DJ, who would hit Bird in the corner where Bird would step back and take a three. “So you got that?” Bird queried the bench. “I’m gonna stand right here. I’m not going to move. They’ll pass me the ball, and the next sound you hear will be the ball hitting the bottom of the net.” And that’s exactly what happened. Bird winked at the Maverick before heading back down to the other end of the court.

I think :03 (and :43 again) is the greatest pass I've ever seen in basketball. Crazy
