NFL Draft celebration is over rated
Can't believe how much they try to market it and how much money they spend on it being a spectical. Most people do not care who the F the Browns hire from College to be on their practice squad. Can read about it in the newspaper the night of, or watch ESPN at any given time over the next 7 days. Love football but give a rats butt about the Draft

Never watched it for more than a minute or two if home and I don’t anticipate sitting in front of tv for it this year either. Good luck and health to all the kids being picked.

      The virtual thing was terrible

The only good thing was ESPN did give a lot of attention to health care workers

The amount of money saved will make it a reality in the future. Kids looking for hotel rooms for family and friends. Just keep it virtual

An average of 8.2 million viewers watched the second day of the draft across ABC, ESPN, NFL Network, ESPN Deportes and digital platforms. That’s a second-day record for NFL draft ratings. The first day also shattered a record, with an average of 15.6 million viewers.

The Friday spike was a 40 percent increase from the second-day ratings last year. The peak audience was 10 million viewers. That’s a monster audience for anything, much less a draft after the 32 best players have already been selected.

Should do it that way every year. No way does it take a War Room to draft 10-15 players for a team every year.

2020 NFL Draft is most-watched ever with record viewership numbers

The NFL hoped for the best with a fully virtual 2020 NFL Draft, hoping fans across the country would welcome the distraction. The league’s decision not to postpone the draft paid off in epic fashion with the best ratings the event has ever seen.

Things started well on Thursday with more than 15.6 million people tuning in to set the league’s single-day record for a draft broadcast. The success only continued from there with record Day 2 viewership totals blowing past the marks the league saw in the 2019 NFL Draft.
The NFL announced on Sunday that the 2020 NFL Draft is the most-watched ever with more than 55 million viewers watching during the three-day event. The mark represented a 35 percent growth from the entire audience total from 2019, just one of multiple records set this weekend.

An average of 8.4 million people watched all three days of the 2020 NFL Draft, marking a massive jump from the 6.2 million viewers that watched all three days of the draft in 2019.

The Draft-A-Thon, which raised nearly $100 million for COVID-19 relief efforts, also experienced incredible success on streaming services. The live fundraising campaign drew more than 5.4 million total daily viewers, with the audience watching for nearly 50 million minutes on digital and social platforms.
While many feared how a virtual 2020 NFL Draft would unfold, it proved to be a hit among teams and fans. Credit to Roger Goodell, who received extensive praise for overseeing an incredible three-day event in such an unprecedented time.

Could argue that any show over 4 major networks could reach that number of audience. Should break it down to audience per network and see what the numbers come out to be. Also given that people are itching to watch anything sport related to get away from 1985 Oakland A's classic games for a minute. And also account that EVERYONE IS STUCK AT HOME AND BORED OUT OF THEIR MINDS.

it a little like back in the day when you had only 3 major networks, there was no way they could not get good ratings with no american sports on and the people that do not do other sports are starved for anything to do with sports.

Saying that the NFL Draft celebration is Over Rated is a huge Under rated statement. It sucks.
