1) italy reason 1 - the kissing to say hello does not help. one of the things i never liked being italian was kissing all my relatives all the time.

2) italy reason 2- not the best country either with handwashing and cleanliness as priority.

3) we (united states) have been exposed to this since the end of 2019. we have tons of asians back and forth from china and other countries on flights and such, not only here in nyc, though we are an epicenter for the asian population and tourism.
