#9I'm really glad poker is making a comeback despite all of the bad beats. Bush signs off on internet poker being put on an anti terrorism bill and creates "Black Friday". So many years later we're coming back from that.
When it comes to the scammers I hate all of them because it's the last thing the game needs. I played a lot at Full Tilt and other rooms way back when and the climate was such that you could have a good action game from the comfort of your home. These days good luck finding a game online that isn't nits or bots.
Not that casino poker rooms aren't fun, but if you're looking to make serious money you can't multi table live and that's a big drawback - and it's all because of the confusion caused by the law stepping in and trying to control something that has nothing to do with them. You want to regulate and tax it? Go for it. But don't tell me where I can and cannot play with my own hard earned money.
Super user? blow me. Angle shooter at the live game? Let's step outside.
They're all the same and they're the reason the law decided to step in.
Play fair and respect the game.Comment -

#10Unfort, it was never legal in usa and thats unfortunate. Players at poker stars, full tilt and absolute poker have or are getting the money back. Many reasons for the law...money laundering...creating and allowing a criminal enterprise...games not regulated, Protect a player to not allow full tilt ponzi..absolute super user etc. Bush didnt sign the bill..it was a senator who attached that bill to something real..and it got approved.Comment -

They also claimed there was a lot of money laundering going on on gambling sites, got the religious people behind it etc.
Very good point about playing legally to ensure fluid money transactions these days.
Before Black Friday though, everything was virtually instant through Neteller or wherever else, no matter what the amount (within reason).
For sports betting, sure easy choice and same old game and I'm glad things are opening up state by state. For poker players though, the online climate is basically destroyed from an opponent selection standpoint. The whole legal mess scared off virtually all of the recreational players from playing online. Sure it's opening up too as far as playing legally, but they are pretty much gone.
I miss my fish list, poker tracker and all of that.
That stuff worked man. Pretty much no point in it now.Comment -
