Premature ejaculation. Blake Griffin, Ben Simmons and Joel embiid all sat out their rookie seasons. Every single one has at least one max deal. Embiid sat out multiple seasons

Barring further injury he has the ability to be one of the greats.

Shady,
you can't just cherry pick the good ones
Noel Nerlins?
Greg Oden?
Julius Randle?
Sam Bowie?
Luke Jackson?

What is considered a bust? I'm pretty sure he will average 20/10 during his career.

Randle is having a pretty good career and making tons of money and he wasn't even as high a pick as most of those guys

No way in hell
He may very well wind up being a 6th or 7th man by year 3

we already have a pre season pre injury prediction thread....
He's retired from NBA play before he even started. Reminds me of Julius Randle when he folded his leg playing for the Lakers in his rookie season.
Maybe Zion follows the same path as Randle? Similar players in a sense..

I could have played over sees, no lie. I could reverse dunk you name it back in the day. I was a beach volleyball player though myself.. Still, I would have dunked on your shiiit Shute back in prime.. ..
Jibs missed his window to play pro sports though and went to real work to make money instead..

All depends if he has the fire inside or not. You have to want to be great to go out and be great (Michael Jordan), We will know witching his first year, whenever that is.

this is why players like lebron, kobe, jordan etc are different class. with the soft generation these days, i don't think a player like that will emerge again. But the media will hype of some softy and make it seem like they are good.

True. We won't see players like those guys, especially Jordan, Pippen ,Bird, Magic.... basically any of those greatest "50 NBA greatest players of all time"

As opposed to cherry picking the bad ones? Strike randle from that list and I'd say Zion potential and hype is closer to embiid and Griffin force than Bowie and oden

It's not cherry picking I just brought in the rest of the list that you left out
Bowie was picked 2nd overall ahead of the hyped Michael Jordan
Odem was selected first overall

Who would name their son ZION, that's what I want to know???
Parents must have been really high off the chronic while listening to Bob Marley during the naming process if I had to guess...

I agree. Said that preaseason , that it is unlikely he will play any full season looking how he is build and considering his playing style

Both Blake Griffin and Ben Simmons sat out their entire rookie seasons and no one batted an eye. Both guys won Roy guns blazing the following year when they finally played.
Embiid sat out nearly 2 seasons without giving us a glimpse into the process and guys here were swearing he'd bust.
Norl medical staff was notoriously brought to light last yr when it was revealed that it was the saints medical staff mostly and regarded as a joke amongst the rest of the NBA medical staffs. They were the reason why both Anthony Davis and Julius randle walked.
Zion may be an overreaction to the joke staff and previous injury histories but all of a sudden every overweight and over the hill unathletic white guy here that never played a day of ball in their lives are once again talking like they are NBA all time vets. Probably the same clowns who proclaimed embiid was a bust

Griffin done for the season -hasn't been right for many years. Simmons is built for the NBA so no worries there. Jury's out on Embiid -injury concerns for ever around the corner with him.
