Yea. Don’t think Brees coming back makes them better tho. Wondering where all the ppl who laughed when I said teddy b wasn’t much if any drop off from Brees at now? Prob on suicide watch if they been fading teddy b!! Lol
Not gonna lie, I thought saints were gonna take a step back this year. The defense is excellent, the special teams are excellent, the offense is good enough.

Don’t forget special teams, we don’t talk special teams much but saints very well might have the best special teams in football. Great kicker w huge leg, they block and return punts. Good punter. They very complete. I was way wrong about them coming into year. Think it tough to make a case anyone in nfc is better.

I think bridgewater was more of a mystery and would he fit the Saints system or not. Brees and bridgewater are polar opposites

They actually incredibly similar imo. accurate short throwers who both smart/read defenses well. Gotta give drew the nod far as that goes but teddy athleticism and arm both better at this point imo. I didn’t doubt teddy b for a minute, I thought he was a star in the making when he got hurt. Look at kids record as s starter! It is Brady like!! Yes he been blessed w good teams but so is trubisky and look at that bum hold his team back.

I agree with everyones comments regarding Brees and Bridgwater being on par at this stage in their careers. But, I think Brees will be more valuable in the playoffs than Bridgwater due to his experience. Bridgwater is good but I'd take Brees more readily once playoffs begin.

The saints still haven't played anyone with a good offense since brees went down, they are clearly better with brees.

Remember when Denver won it with Peyton injured in regular season then he came back in playoffs to win it with a great defense then he retired into the sunset?
Same here. Saints get redemption from last season, Brees wins his 2nd SB and rides off into the sunset

We might not lose another game. The game against Carolina will be huge.
Would love to see Brees and Brady Superbowl like it should have been last year.

Yeah basically what this proves is the Saints are a damn good football team and Drew Brees is no longer important to this team.
Sean Payton 2nd best coach????
my answer is yes.
3rd best would be Kyle Shannahan

I wouldn't say Brees isn't important to the team, he's still their QB and team leader
if he was out for the next 5 weeks and the Saints went 5-0 under bridgewater in those weeks and Drew was healthy for the very next start, he would be the starter, not teddy.
Bridgewater's job as a backup is just that. if you can win games and shine that's great, but once your star QB is back, your backup job is over.
