Again this is a decent starting lineup for USA they just not good enough these days and maybe other countries have caught up with the levels of high standards play.

This is a trash USA team. Sure they have a couple of good NBA players but nothing special.

This lineup is like the Monday early afternoon shifts of strippers....nobody wants to see that and zero talent

I don't think it's the world catching up, it's an under-performing squad. US won the last two tourneys (world cup, Olympics) undefeated winning most games, including the final, by blowout. If you U17, U19, etc. US kills. This team just never got it together for whatever reason. Less talented than we usually field, though still enough talent to win if they play right.

Our top players might need to consider playing next time around.

If as in "stars" you mean dancing with the stars, then yeah, your right.

The USA basketball team just has some players, he stars are in the sky and on the side coaching.

Except for Kemba, gotta love Kemba.

Dunno, but Giannis played for Greece, Gasol & Rubio for Spain, Bogdanovich for Serbia. Some countries the best players play to represent. US does it for the Olympics, but nobody wants to do the Worlds.

How many millions does one need? Maybe it's not about money.

At one point, there other things they want to put on a resume. It's a sense of national pride, especially outside the US, etc.

Plenty of reasons to play for your country in the off season.

In the US the thinking is more revolved around business, even though the stars, if they have an agent team worth a shit, aren't concerned with money. That's an agent's game, to get the cut.

Do you play for your country or your city? The tough reality is that a US superstars legacy will be cemented by how many NBA titles NOT Olympic medals. Why put extra wear on your body when you need to focus on the upcoming season?

Now, for an international star, you are remembered for life if you can bring home gold to your country because it’s never happened for most countries.

Yeah, just seems to mean more to the international players these days that it does to the US guys.

We will see what Colangelo really does or if he is all talk. He "won't forget the USA pullouts come Olympics time" Guess he found out who is truly committed and going to stick with them. Most likely all talk.
