#73If the books are requiring that the player is active in week 1 for action, then they should refund after week 1.Comment -

#74But what’s the difference in abruptly tearing your acl? Obviously easier on your family than the dying, but for gambling purposes it effectively the same thing. I’m glad he got money back but still don’t feel as if everyone roasting the book when it appeared they might not refund was fair, don’t think they should be obligated in this instance unless it stated in rules “a player must play week 1”..,Comment -

#77Bodog/Bovada are informing that Andrew Luck futures such as to win MVP are “season wagers and must wait till the end of the series to be settled.”
This sounds stupid to me; it should be no action. What are other sports books doing? Void or holding my money until end of season?
Just curious. Bodog seems silly for making me hold a ticket entire season, sounds like a negative freeroll for me.

#78Actually it should be a loss. Future bets have action, retirements do not change that. Now SOME books are refunding wagers as a goodwill gesture, but those that are doing so are refunding immediately. Fact that Bodog is keeping bet open indicates it has action and will therefore be a loss.Comment -

#79Right, I did not read the whole thread and did not realize that Bovada joined the Goodwill Parade, so the OP was very fortunate. I guess my main point though is that wager is technically a loss and books are not obligated to give refunds.Comment -

#81Totally agree. I woulda went all 5d tony on them!! acting like they were being cheated until getting a refund. I’ve seen what I consider far more unfair rulings on things than grading this play a loss which it was. I don’t want anyone to lose but not sure I thought they deserved good will refund after way they talked about book before the charity case desicion.Comment -

#82It's not Goodwill. The rule should never have existed. It's a sham. Legit operation should have never adopted such a fuk you player attitude in the first place. Principle don't play, principle can't win. If word came down that MVP winner was rigged via cheating voters, Sports book would have no problem voiding action wager. Get the fuk out of here.Comment -

#85This is no different than betting a Kentucky Derby future months in advance and losing because the horse does not run, or losing a player to a torn ACL during preseason. Unless a book has a stipulation such as a player must be active for Week 1 or something like that, all future wagers have Action, it is as simple as that.Comment -

#88Yes, online gambling sports books have a huge history of being courteous. They did the right thing because they knew it was the right thing. They aren't known to be charitable. It was never in doubt they would settle fairly. The doubt comes from having the rule in the first place. If not for communication technology such as the internet they'd be counting the money from such sham.Comment -

I didn’t take your post to be any kind of comment on the bet so when he started carrying on I didn’t even get the point. Happens to the best of us, he might have been high, buzzed, overzealous to take shot at you, misunderstood your post. hell I dunno. I just let it slide as not one his better moments, I have them sometimes. lol.Comment
