A-Rod always subpar in playoffs but had that one year

        CC Sabfatia

David Price last year in Boston

I already forget who the pitcher was who was traded to the Royals and helped them win it all the year after they lost to the Giants...

Stros "should" win the AL but they gotta take care of business

Like I said I wasn't even close to being alive in '54 but old timers tell me the Indians had the greatest pitching staff ever assembled.

They had two 23 game winners, a 19 game winning, and a hamburger by the name of Bob Feller who was 13-3.
That Cleveland team won 111 games and was -320 to beat the Giants in the World Series. The 111 games won is a record for a 154 game season, Nobody took the underdog Giants, almost all the money (so I'm told) was on the chalk Indians.
Long story short, Giants swept them 4-0. It was a bloodbath for all the chalk players.

              Oh, this happened too.

                  Also agree.
There's no such thing as a lock in MLB.

Gene Michael played SS for some pretty shitty NYY teams.
He played a full decade, in ten years he hit .229 and 15 homers. That's in 10 years.

One game against the power house Earl Weaver Orioles the Yanks were like a -200 underdog at home.
Gene Michael won the game with a Chinese home run off the foul pole 281 feet away in left field.

                  Locks? No such thing.
I've seen sure fire double play balls hit the third base bag and skip into left field for a double that should have been a game ending DP.
                  The stories are endless.

I know, i'm just mocking him for being an idiot for calling it over when it's sports, especially baseball where anything can happen. Astros may have the best team on paper, but I will see whether to fade them when playoffs roll around.

Dodgers are licking their chomps right now. Greinke first start against dodgers after being traded in 2016 gave up 5 bombs, in the season openor this year gave up 4 bombs, has a 17.18 ERA at dodger stadium, and Verlander has giving up the most bombs in MLB this year. I think its the dodgers year

Remember a few years back Greinke could have gone to the NYYanks but didn't think he could pitch in the lime light of NY. We'll soon see if he can get over his fear in October with all the marbles on the line. Yanks vs Dodgers.

Greinke is an enigma, you don't know what your'e going to get even with his eight pitch arsenal.
I remember when Greinke was a 5 and 17 game loser, and I remember him when he was a 19 and 3 game winner and Cy Young award winner.

As a devout KC Royals fan I remember when KC traded Greinke to the Brewers for Jake Odorizzi, Escobar, and Lorenzo Cain.
KC then flipped Odorizzi to Tampa Bay for 'Big Game' James Shields and Wade Davis.
Now James Shields never really lived up to that 'Big Game' moniker but in 2014 did lead the major leagues in starts (34) making every one of them and eating up a boatload of innings in the process going 14-8 and helped KC to the World Series that year when not KC or anybody was beating those Mad-Bum Giants anyway.

Wade Davis was a stud elite reliever for KC 2014-2015, went back to back World Series instrumental in that 2015 championship along with Lorenzo Cain. Cain in those two World Series seasons hit .301 and .307, stole 28 bases in each of those two season and was 3rd in the MVP voting in 2015, Lo-Cain may be the best defensive outfielder this generation not to win a gold glove.

Wade Davis had insane numbers those two 2014 and 2015 seasons, appearing in 140 games in relief (yeah, that's right 140 games in relief in two seasons) going 17 and 3 those seasons all in relief, with an 0.98 ERA and an eye popping 0.818 WH/IP giving up only 3 HR's in 139 innings of relief in two seasons finishing top ten in the CY Young twice.

Escobar was never a big stick shortstop but was steady as a rock on defense which is what you need anyway out of a middle infielder.
That up the middle defense of Sal Perez, Escobar, and Lorenzo Cain was as good as it got.
                            ,
Point being KC got all those World Series players (James Shields, Wade Davis, Escobar, and Lorenzo Cain) in essence for Greinke who has never seen a World Series player. (Also goes to show you Dayton Moore is the best GM nobody has ever heard of and why Ned Yost is still collecting paychecks too.)

The problem with the Dodgers is simple. The cannot win the Big Games. THey have basically been unchallenged for many years in the NL. They finally made it to the Series and gave the series away to Houston. Then they were dismantled by Boston. The Dodgers are a great fade in post season play because the odds are ridiculous.

Dodgers are this decades answer to the Braves of the mid-nineties.
All those division titles and not one championship.
At least the Braves one ring.

I don't think we'll see a line < -200 for Greinke till the playoffs. (Unless facing a contending team). Just can't bet a lot to win a little.

He always lived in Kershaws shadows as a Dodger.. He is a good pitcher but not great.. Nothing to see here.. Not sure if he will make the Stros better or worse to be honest come playoff time..
