Simple, he probably spent it as fast as he made it and rather than having some money stashed away, he had to take out loans when the paychecks weren't coming in. I read a lot of players had this issue during the 2011 lockout and were taking out high juice loans out of fear they weren't gonna get paid for awhile to continue financing their lifestyle.
