This is an interesting discussion regarding Nevada and N.J. books. I'm a novice and have some questions:

        - My understanding is Vegas is known for taking all comers... they don't shy away from big bets and pros can get BIG money done. One prime example is "Bettor X's" million+ dollar run during the 2017 World Series. Do N.J. books also welcome BIG money bets from pros?

        - I've seen people in threads mention Sugar House when they mention a N.J. book... I looked at SH's MLB lines for today and they offer poor lines/juice. Does N.J. have books that offer more competitive lines/odds? I would think a growing market like N.J. would be offering better lines/odds... no?

        - Do-n's B*est's site shows live odds for Vegas books Westgate, Mirage, and Station. Is there a site/link that shows live odds for major N.J. books? Also, is there a better link for Vegas's books that shows live odds for more books than the three I mention?

Thanks in advance for any insight on these questions.

Las Vegas casinos had a complete monopoly for decades. Then Atlantic City came around in the late 70s and Vegas casinos didn't die. Then tribal casinos came around in the 90s and Vegas didn't die. Now nearly everyone in the country can drive to a casino, but Vegas casinos and their slots and table games still survive. You claim the sportsbooks are going to be so different, but can't provide a single reason why

Who, or what, in Las Vegas is going to take a blow? The sportsbooks are internationally traded companies. They are the ones who are going to benefit from California legalizing sports betting.

Very few travel to Las Vegas to bet sports. Far more care about seeing the Bellagio Fountains than seeing the Packers +4.5. Losing visitors from California over this is a much bigger hit to Reno / Tahoe, and even Primm; it will barely register in Las Vegas.

DID NEW JERSEY SPORTS BETTING REALLY SURPASS NEVADA'S HANDLE IN MAY?

                        lmao..

for example, at the golden nugget online sportsbook in nj, customers can take advantage of a promotional offer that allows them to place a risk-free $50 bet. If your $50 bet loses, gn will refund your bet in the form of a $50 free bet.

That $50 free bet, which isn’t money that you deposited onto the site, would count toward the nj statewide handle.
so, a customer deposits $50 and loses that $50 bet, but receives $50 back to make another $50 bet. That would count as $100 in handle for the dge, even though the customer in reality wagered only $50 of their own money.

It’s a one-time offer, but it can contribute a sizable chunk to the statewide handle.

the likes of draftkings and fanduel are offering $500 in free bets, while pointsbet is offering up to $1k
