Teams are not going to waste any good pitchers today, especially if they're in the playoffs.

He's not talking about playoff bound teams. I think his strategy is to bet unders on the games where both teams are playing their last game of the season today.

I didn't just specify playoff bound teams.

As far as teams out of it.....I know the Mets for one have shut down two of their pitchers including Lugo.

I know pirates are pitching clay Holmes who sucks but why wouldn't these guys swing at anything that's thrown? You might have a point about better pitchers being shut down but I wouldn't think players are trying to work counts or be selective
