Good point but they didn't plan it this way.
Word is NJ Division of Gaming Enforcement played a role.
The problem is it was the worst kind of publicity when it comes to politicians already seeking feferal legislation.
Coincidence that a Congressional hearing was discussed and scheduled just 1-2 days after this well known incident?
Just a week or two ago the American Gaming Association told 2 senators pushing for legislation that it's not needed because states have it all under control themselves.
And then this.
And I'll reiterate.
Politicians don't understands the fine details of sports betting.
All they see is a mess of a story where a player isnt getting paid.
When federal legislation goes thru everyone can thank Fanduel for the worst timing ever to screw up.Comment -

#40There’s been reports in Vegas about books paying tickets after the game was complete. Why no congressional hearings over that ? This instances have happened time & time again and books were fined 10’s of thousands of $$

#43Fanduel should invite this guy back and give him a vip table for him and his buddies. Watch he gives everything back, and then some. If they're smart, they won't ban him. He'll just give the 82k to someone else.Comment -

#45FanDuel is just a brand owned by Paddy Power/Bet Fair since May.
They are on the up-and-up, might even have insurance for this.
Huge global operation not interested in being noted for disputes.

#46This is true and while they're at it, they'll make a few bets and lose some cash. FD will get that 82k back in the form of increased business.Comment -
