Where in the world did you get +425 with the Broncos ball on the last drive? Was +120 range on every major live betting site out there, POSSIBLY a tad higher on recreational books but nowhere near that.

this is so silly. Tony would ban you for taking 20 to 1 let alone 750 to 1. I have had my issues with live wagering at times but I never take shots. Easy way to get blacklisted and if you have any gambling sense you should obviously know this line is a blatant mistake. I would give him his ticket refund in pennies and ban him for life.

They were +120 when the drive started. The pregame fave in a 2 min drive needing a fg to win is always in the pk em range. Feel free to bet the leading team every time as a small fave. I actually did bet the Raiders -130 when the drive started as I just don’t believe in Keenum, but that’s the correct price.

If this does make it to court, we all should hope the least that comes out of it would be something where the book has to define what an "obvious" error is. This whole industry is nothing but a scam if bettors hold tickets for the duration of a game, never knowing if they're valid or not until they go to cash out.

PR nightmare for FD and novice gamblers new to the game thinking they won’t pay now.
That's why they should pay, and publicize that they're reversing their initial decision. The goodwill gained from paying out $150,000 for their mistake will more than make up for it in the long run. They will lose far more business over the long haul from the square clientele they are trying to attract by stiffing these guys. Sure it's an obvious bad line, but Nevada gaming has set the precedent for US based books, and should be followed. All tickets are final as written. Pay them, toss them if you want, and be more diligent in ensuring such mistakes don't happen in the future.

disagree. sets a bad precedent. this story will educate people on what taking shots are. anyone with a brain knows a team driving down 2 does not merit a 750 to 1 line. If he got a ticket before the game not on live wagering and they didn't notice the mistake mb then would I payout for publicity purposes but guy made the bet when I wasn't even able to make any more bets live on heritage or 5dimes. I took the broncos live with like 7 left at +400 or so and +195 with 3 min left I believe. if I saw 750 to 1 with Denver driving id laugh my ass off and not even think of touching that bc I know it's an egregious error and I could get banned for taking shots at such a line. People in New Jersey will continue to bet no matter what happens with this scam artist.

its not a scam to take advantage of someone's incompetence. just because you believe the narrative that a book should not be held accountable for their mistakes doesn't mean that everyone does.

That's fair, I guess I really meant to say the CAN affect or void all accounts.
You get what I'm saying though, it's so much different with brick and mortar, you can't reach all the bettors. It's just ripe for abuse because of that chance to free roll and completely get away with it.
So tough with live lines, it's tough to say what the fair market at that moment should be and I'm not sure Jersey is structured for that type of arbitration.

Obvious mistakes are one thing, but yeah, online sports betting has certainly warped one of the most sacred things in the industry.
You take a bet, you honor that bet. This especially sacred despite the fact that the guys making the bets fail to honor their losing end all the time.
Benny Binion is rolling in his grave, but is probably loving the access and number of wacky bets that can be placed in today's world.

many ppl make obvious mistakes in every walk of life but dont get refunds. plenty of businesses go bankrupt from obvious mistakes. do they get to say "oh it was obviously a mistake that our employee put the detergent in the iced tea instead of the sugar so we should not be held liable"?

I'm with you cheese. I get it.
That's why I said I think they should be fined by Jersey for the selling the mistake. The transaction should never occur, whatever the cost.
Hold them accountable, let's see how many "bad lines" actually get sold. My worry is that the online culture, where "everyone" is cool with no accountability, is showing up at the counter.
That's disturbing.

i don't think new jersey will be very strict when policing books if the ivey edge sorting case is anything to go by.

to score a FG basically, even +425 is too much, should be +110

a few years ago, a book offered a boxing match from Japan. The LOCAL time was something like 7pm, which meant early AM here, but the fight remained open well after it was finished, should they have had to pay then? This would have been a case of past posting, but it was still offered, so using the logic I see here, some probably think that should have been paid.

I was able to bet on the Stanley Cup Final after the gameshad ended... Had my account up to a maximum bankroll based on deposit until they told me none of the wagers would be honored... 2 days later... However, I was able to make wagers with the winnings in the meantime, and none of those bets were affected... Felt like money laundering lol

I mean if I was some college dropout, living with my parents and working at Gelotti. I would try to collect every penny.
It looks like those guys had $50 left in their account and clearly saw a mistake they thought they can gain from. Seems uneducated to me

——-Fanduel refuse to pay more than $138,000 in winnings after NFL gambling 'glitch'
Two Jersey parties who placed wagers on plus-75,000 odds for the Denver Broncos to beat the Oakland Raiders with 1:10 left in Sunday’s game received more than $138,000 in winnings from FanDuel SportsBook after Broncos kicker Brandon McManus split the uprights in a last-second 20-19 victory.
Except, FanDuel revoked the payouts, suggesting they were the result of an 18-second glitch:
“The wager in question involved an obvious pricing error inadvertently generated by our in-game pricing system,” FanDuel director of publicity Kevin Hennessy said in a statement. “Specifically, near the end of the Sunday afternoon game between the Denver Broncos and the Oakland Raiders, the odds for the Broncos (who had the ball and were trailing by two points at the time) to win were +340 (bet $100 to win $340).
“The next play, the Broncos completed a 26 yard pass to position themselves to attempt a 36 yard field goal to take the lead in the final seconds of the fourth quarter, clearly positioning the Broncos as the favorite to win. At that moment in the game, our system updated the odds and erroneously posted a price of +75,000 on the Broncos to win the game (bet $100 to win $75,000) when the correct odds for the Broncos to win the game at that point in time were -600 (i.e., bet $600 to win $100).
“A small number of bets were made at the erroneous price over an 18 second period. We honored all such bets on the Broncos to win the game at the accurate market price in accordance with our house rules and industry practice, which specifically address such obvious pricing errors.
