I think the most overrated stats are umpire stats. I think the public saw this stat and moved the number down from 9.

Nick Mahrley Under record is 7-2

That is a stat that is irrelevant for the simple fact there is not enough samples to make a determination that his strike zone is that big that favors the Under plus you have two starters that I feel will have trouble going deep into the game tonight

Looking at umpire stats, sometimes the same ump shows totally different tendencies from one year to the next.

Agree those stats can confuse the decision process. But maybe the key to using umpire stats is being extremely selective. Some umps have a very tight strikezone and you can pair that with a team with good plate discipline / high walk rate.
