I know a couple of people who have hotel hopped for months at a time. To do this you need to either have a bunch of comps accrued or gamble on things other than sports/poker. Expect to spend a lot of time off-strip if you try this strategy.
EDIT: There's also a place on Tropicana by the airport that does short-term leases for a month or two. I have a friend who stayed there. He had no problems with crackheads, but there is a lot of airplane noise.Comment -
Not sure if it possible anymore with the resort fee scams, etc. but a few years back you used to be able to bounce to casino to casino cheaper than rent by the weeks. Try to find deals (casinos email spam is good, look at comparison sites like hotels combined that search multiple sites, buy comped rooms from other people, hustle name your own price on Priceline, short term rentals on Craigslist, etc)... and book Mon-Fri and Sat-Sun separate each week usually leads to the best deals...
How big are you gambling? If mid stakes (heavy quarter vp or a couple hours of $1 for example) you should be cover rooms perpetually IF YOU PLAY AT THE RIGHT PLACES...Last edited by LVHerbie; 07-06-18, 01:35 PM.Comment -
If you are gambling where you are staying you want to book direct with the hotel and ask for comps on the back end.
Four queens has low rates (saw $99 weekend summer rates with no resort recently) and will give casino rate (think it is $32 midweek and $69 weekends) to anyone with a pulse. On top of cashback both them and Binion’s (sister property that uses Four Queens’ hotel) give just over .6% comps on vp that you can apply to rooms.Comment -
If you are betting sports or playing poker you aren’t going to get much but, depending on where you bet, should be able to get some comps to apply to rooms here and there. With poker you can usually get casino rate (for example binions in the post above) if you commit to playing x hours a day.

Not sure how receptive SBR would be such PMs but there definitely an active market for casino comps once you get in the loop... In past I've "heard" of people getting rooms for simple things like picking up freeplay for a friend or playing a slot tournament for someone in exchange for the included free rooms. If you are paying cash you are probably looking at nothing (depending on what you have to exchange) to $20 a night for low end rooms during slow times with higher end ones going for as much as 70-80% face on busy weekend like say EDC or New Year's.
When are you planning on making the trip? I'm happy to meet almost any poster when I'm in town and can provide more specific details in person as long as you aren't a scumbag (like say BobbyWaves, Brock Landers, or Iwinyourmoney) or not a fascist (Brooks87 or DwightShute) or a combination of both (Opie1998)...

Funny side story: I heard about a guy who hit a big jackpot or called in a big drawing for a car or whatever at JJGold's favorite hangout Terrible's (Silver Sevens now) and so they put his picture on their marquee. I few weeks later there was incident with some of the girls "working" in the casino and when they got thrown out it the casino discovered he had been reselling his comped rooms to them to conduct business in...
He ended up getting 86ed as well but they still left his picture on the marquee...
Anyhow, moral of the story, in all ways cash is king in Vegas...

Yea that is USUALLY going to be the case...
Awhile back SWIM could get unlimited rooms every weekend at a certain desirable strip property and had a friend liquidate them for him for a few months to help pay for his poverty vacation in Southeast Asia... It also required a $20 handshake agreement with a comrade working at that casino at every check-in...Comment
