The 3 point shot era peaked and is now on the downside

It was short but sweet. This year it has proven to be inefficient. It's more productive to go to the rim and get fouls. Sports always change and sooner then later the big man will be back. The long range shot is not a good shot. It's low%. It leads to rebounds that the defensive team will get more often making it even less efficient. Move the line back and kill this shot and bring back the NBA.

Yeah. Everyone thinks they can do it. It's still not dead because you have to construct the right team that can do it. Warriors just happen to have the 3 greatest shooters pretty much in history on 1 team. Durant is probably the 2nd greatest pure shooter in history (midrange and 3s included) after Curry. The guy literally doesn't miss an open shot. Everytime he shoots, I think it's going in. His percentages are unreal.

So yeah, to try and match that, it's gonna be tough. Rockets could, they need another sniper though. PJ Tucker and Ariza shouldn't be main 3 point options. If the Rockets had a player like Kevin Love -- a 3 sniper from deep plus a guy who can grab you a bucket down low -- they'd probably have a better chance.

Curry went nuts in that last game the other night when he got dialed in with his 3 point shooting mid way thru the game. That was amazing to watch.. I was in awe again.. When Curry starts getting on a roll and hitting deep 3's one after another it's really an amazing
3 point shooting isn't going anywhere... Fans enjoy it..

and you only have about a 7-9% less chance of making a 3 vs a 2

so you don't have to be a math major to figure out what kind of shots you should try to get the most of

You can also get touch fouled shooting the 3 which then makes it's a potential 4 point play.. That touch foul happens more often then you'd think on 3 point shots, defenders running out to defend can't slow down.. Foul....

Unless you're James Harden in Game 7 at home. I counted 4 times, he shot a 3, got fouled and the refs looked away. One should have been a 4 point play too.
