Is the Nugget the only joint w/ a poker room downtown My Bravo app is showing just that...Ive never played downtown, always Bellagio, Aria, Venetian, Caesars & Flamingo (for the early morn tournys). Preference in that order...

binions has a poker room as well...there might be a couple others but not that many pokerrooms downtown..the nugget does have a nice room and I'll probably be posted up there for a good portion of the trip.

Besides the GN Binions is the only game left downtown and they, after once being the center of the poker universe, are only hanging on by threads having moved the last few tables into the pit.

Cheap daily buy-in tournaments (usually single table) and one cash game max that likely will break early. Basically GN or nothing downtown these days.

I'd honestly wait closer to the Bash to book. I don't know what number you are on the waitlist but so many people drop out as soon as they have to show proof of flights and whatever. I'm not saying not to book on the Strip but it'd be a shame if you booked so early and were then offered a free room. Up to you though obviously! Either way you'll have a blast

I think I might go the sweep route as well. I don't like waiting till the end to find out. I plan things and not knowing is not my thing. I want to go but I guess I will book my own thing. Do we still get into the Nugget to attend events that way?

How do you guys not stay free all over the strip?....chit chat w some workers and tip hotel desks...I really don't bet that big...get 3 free nights a month (at tropicana-not amazing but upgrade $80 TOTAL (3) nights and get balcony by pool area and cosmo even gave me a free night on break even slot play after I pounded 15 drinks lol....granted I asked for the next night and they said $800 so I left quickly....you local casino's are tied to vegas I assume....go lay down some $ and youll have an offer by bash time

From what was said earlier in the thread you dont get into the sbr events if your not hooked up with sbr. Im like you and like to plan my things early i would book my flights and wait to see if guys drop out and if they dont then book a room somewhere. Im positive that you can find a room in a vegas at the last minute

I personally would go with what allaboutthe$$$ said... wait it out. We've been here for how many Bashes and from memory they've never left it to the last minute to announce who's off the list and what posters are now in. And if that doesn't work, stay with Jake! Quite a few people did that in both Vegas and the DR and it all worked out well from what I've heard
