That doesn't mean those ships and other assets will be enough to pay off the creditors. If you want to invest in Carnival, you might look at how their bonds are trading.

I invested in cbl stock and preferred and should of done what you suggest.

Just keep any eye on it.. It's a big time stock and company and when they drop more then 50% because of Corona it catches my eye. That's all I'm saying. 50 - 15 is what happened in a few weeks.. Wait till it gets to $5 a share then.. Carnival Cruises aren't going away.. American Airlines aren't going away..

I don't see it happening even if they had loan debt and what not. It's big business. What ever I'm still waiting.. Just keeping an eye on stuff as Corona spreads and people panic and the DOW continues to plunge..

Moody's downgraded their bonds today as well

They have assets great, who's going to buy a cruise ship? Obviously the competing or lone surviving cruise company....at a major discount.

But, to each their own...this is a company that's primed for a ch 11 and preplanned takeover.

You can do what you want, just please keep in mind that you can easily end up betting on whether or not Carnival gets a bailout.

I'd be really careful with this. Liquidation of assets is not a repayment source, revenues and cash flow are. I don't know how well capitalized they are but I can guarantee you that they will burn through their cash in the upcoming months. Their bankers are pretty nervous right about now

Once you start talking about debt restructuring, the only winners are the attorneys and the shareholders are screwed. There are other bargains out there but like I said the other night, I don't think we haven't bottomed out. I'm not buying just yet, the ride will be bumpy but we will be fine in the long run.

Common sense tells you this.. They pump out advertising as well..

Typically, that is a good strategy and it may be in this case as well. Use your best judgement and good luck

With stocks it's always about getting in at the right time.. That's also always a gamble unless you are on the inside and know something everyone else doesn't..

With Corona it's a little different though and when you see stocks tank like the are now it's like not if but when should we invest soon? You just have to think most will rebound when Corona is gone and order is restored..

The FED dumping 1.5 trillion dollars in and still being down 10 percent is not a good sign. They need to embrace the Recession so we can come out the other end with a real economy. All the QE is doing is setting up another bubble and just prolonging the inevitable. You can't carry a deficit like we have and claim to have a great economy. More spending will not fix this. It's propped up on corporate tax cuts that are already plateauing and wearing off. If we keep trying to spend more to get us out then when the tax cuts expire in 2025 we will be ******.

i am one of those you would call impulsive however i have been systematically buying incrementally on the way down. a possible GENERATIONAL OPPORTUNITY to buy stocks that will not come back for decades.

If you had extra cash you should look at fb. Steal at 160 and drop down from 220. It should be up to 300 by end of year. I would wait til tomorrow. Trump is giving a speech and he does well for the market. Not!
