We either will or we won't. That's my prediction lol. The momentum is certainly to the upside right now. I agree, seems risky to hold over a 3-day break. Gotta more potential for bad news than good. But looking at the chart it sure looks like we are going to push toward 2,800, maybe an early or midday sell tomorrow? Bad news and we could push back to 2500's on Monday easily.

this economy is going to eventually go gangbusters with all the free money getting thrown around... almost every individual is getting a free $1200, companies are getting 2.5 months of payroll expenses TAX FREE, etc etc.

yes there's a lot of unemployment but people are double-dipping on that by getting state unemployment AND federal $600/week... i have talked to a few people that will be making more on unemployment than they did working.

just think of all these "small businesses" that are getting $100k+ in tax free money, even though many of them haven't really been hurt, and if they aren't spending it on travel they will spend it on equipment purchases or other stuff

That said, this doesn't mean the virus is gone for good. Hard to see how we won't still have the overhang of a potential new round of this come fall/winter. If that happens do they send another stimulus check and pay another month or two of biz payroll? How many times can this happen before we have a $10 trillion deficit?

I kinda feel sorry for anyone who panicked and sold near the lows a couple weeks ago. I didn't, but I can't deny I was sort of tempted. That said, I couldn't criticize anyone for taking some off the table today or tomorrow.

We need to get businesses back up running, bills paid and back to a normal life. Start opening up restaurants at half capacity if needed.

My understanding is that the $600/week simply increased the the max unemployment paid out per week of $1,000 to $1,600 a week for the high earners. I don't believe it's an extra $600 a week on top of unemployment.

Beginning of May is going to be too soon and would be a mistake. Doing so will likely cause those areas that are not hotspots to become hotspots. Modeling says late May or early June.

"Normal life." That may not be until a vaccine is discovered and that could take several more months.

i think it's $600/week in federal unemployment AND the $370/week (max in WI) in state unemployment, so yes it's double dipping

So this isn’t a political question. A lot of these companies bought back stocks over the past 3-5 years with their money. How does that affect major market shifts exactly? What will most of them do (like airlines) with the stocks? Are shareholders demanding they sell or just saying buy more and hope for a bailout

I looked into it again and I think you're right. It sounded too good to be true when I heard it initially and then I saw that it was only going to increase the weekly unemployment amount to help the high earners who were let go. But yes, it will be double dipping for the 4 months like you said.

I'm with mr. Cramer. I dont believe in this "rally" and I believe we need to eradicate the virus entirely or build herd immunity.

With so many on lockdown around the world, the herd immunity is not going to happen.

And FYI, this virus is sending more sub 65 yr olds to hospitalization and ventilators than The Flu or a cold ever have.

either penn is worth $25 or $0... pretty clear at this point it's $25, so why is the stock still at 12?

still some huge bargains out there... bhr-b is worth $25 and it's sitting at 6... as long as the world doesn't come to an end you probably quadruple your money, the lake tahoe ritz carlton is still worth something as condos if nobody ever travels again
