#3505More. Not sure the exact number, but S&P low was just above 2200. That's about an 18% jump off of last Monday's lows. Big question is whether a retest will happen. If so, that sure seems worth avoiding. That would be a 16% fall, whereas a 16% increase brings us over 3000 S&P. 2200 certainly seems more likely than 3000 in April.Originally posted by homie1975signficantly bettter than they were last Monday afternoon at the close. each index has recouped between 10 and 13% or soComment -

#3506yeah i am unsure of the exact amount the three indexes have rebounded as i am only watching my selected stocks and ETFs but it's definitely been a sizable double digit bounce and has something to it but a retest IMO is still over a 50/50 proposition in Q2Originally posted by d2betsMore. #3511Originally posted by Sanity CheckMarket could trend upwards on news of bailout bill passed and signed.
We will see.

BOOM!
Called it.
I knew we'd see at least 1 day of uptrend.
Who knows what happens after that.

#3524Ok people next week is probably the time to load up on stocks. The market is going to test the 19500 lows. If we can hold this number it then would look like the bottom. If you buy, set up a right stop loss so that if it goes south you can get out and play another day.Comment -

#3526That seems to be the consensus but the earnings schedule is ultra light and we've got good friday. Other than concerns about weekend headlines of CV cases and deaths, what are you seeing that doesn't appear like we'll trade sideways next week?Originally posted by Slurry PumperOk people next week is probably the time to load up on stocks. #3528bubble is never gonna be reinflated... deflationary environment/high unemployment isn't really a good thing for stocks once the free money runs out.Originally posted by Slurry PumperOk people next week is probably the time to load up on stocks. after a couple weeks we already have the worst economy since the great depression, imagine months more of this... what is real estate worth? what is a business worth? what is a mall or hotel worth?
nobody knows the answers to those questions, so i think it's still better to be cautious rather than "load up"Comment -

#3529Warren Buffett.
A lot of folks perplexed that he has not said a word.
I believe it's two fold.
I believe that he does not want to recommend that people buy stocks while we see CV cases and death counts go up, because he feels ethically torn by it.
Also, we are in such unprecedented times that are so uncertain uncertain health wise and financially that even the Oracle of Omaha is unsure what to do or say.
Note: just yday Berkshire unloaded Delta and SouthwestComment -

#3530I'm sure he has eyes on several stocks to jump on, perhaps he thinks the bottom is not in yet? However, it appears that he thinks Delta and SW still have a ways to fall..jmoOriginally posted by homie1975Warren Buffett.

#3531I see sideways trading trending to the previous lowes around 20 to 19.5. It's hard to look at the Dow usually S &P is the one to look at. If we break those low marks market plummets down another couple thousand easily. Not a good look during a pandemic. So I bet the market holds so as we trickle down get stocks with relative strength and one that is going to get favorable attention like BA. Keep stop losses tight and also be ready to short if things break.Originally posted by homie1975That seems to be the consensus but the earnings schedule is ultra light and we've got good friday.
