#73I think it gets OK'd, but I don't think that means a hundred little Las Vegases sprout up. I have zero faith in any state government to do this right. Of course, I'd be looking for a place to go for the first week of the NCAA Tournament that doesn't involve a $25 daily "resort fee" or having to be somewhere three hours before the first tipoff just to get a seat.Comment -

Unfortunately forbid in Florida, we probably won't see legalized sports betting unless it's through the Indian casinos who have the governor here eating out of their hands in regards to gambling-rights.
Either way I'm on the same page with JJ, and no matter where I go in the states, if there's legalized sports betting, I will always pass the word to other/newer players about offshore & suggest checking it out where better deals will most likely be found.Comment -

#76Yup, everyone wins. I just can't wait til the state legislatures tell the leagues to "Stick it, and you can't do sh*t about it. Sorry."Comment -

The best part about the entire thing isn't even the legalization.
It would be seeing the arrogant leagues (especially NFL & Goodell) get b!tch-slapped & have no say.Comment -

#78Why would any state give them shit? I find it hysterical. Even if some do, there will be enough that don't and envy/making less money off of the sports gambling in their states (the whole point) will make those idiots that get seduced by the moron argument of "Just, just give us some, blah blah integrity blah royalties" turn real quick.Comment -

#79If the federal government was smart, when this becomes legal and it will, they should pass federal legislation that allows all 50 states to participate in sports gambling as long as it funnels through established casinos and books in Vegas. If they did that they'd get every major casino behind the push and they could share the revenue with the states much like parimutuel wagering on horseys.Comment -

#80The day the books in Vegas announce they go online will be the same day many offshore books will close shop.

#82Remember, locals have the tax and tracking edge to attract players, and offshores offer fuller menus and better prices. Gotta think bog picture alling
Even though credit is a lure, it's a scheme that benefits locals so I don't mention itComment -

#87Some states are already prepared/preparing to take online wagers.
See post #15:
The state recently became the fourth to legalize online gambling, and PA sports betting could be on the horizon. That same gaming law from 2017 also legalized sports betting, should the US Supreme Court strike down the federal ban this spring. That would include mobile wagering as well as betting on sports at casinos.
However, Offshore will still stand strong.
Legalization = Exposure
Exposure = More Players
More Players = More Competition
More Competition = More players finding better bonuses, odds, perks, and value Offshore
It's a domino effect.
- I do not believe the leagues should get any revenue directly from taxing legal sports betting. The "integrity fee" is a joke, with a creative and misleading title. The leagues will get a ton of added revenue through added eyeballs on their products and advertising dollars from the private sector.Comment -

#88Legal products are not really competitive products same as marijuana you cannot compete with the illegal market
What’s going to happen more gamblers will get into the market and they’re going to find out offshore has much more to offerComment -

#89JJ, what does a company like CG get as far as a cut for handling Venetian/Palazzo books?
Having a sportsbook is a fixed cost = they already have it. As it is, yes they pay workers but they also have it as a casino draw so "low cost to operate" is hard to gauge. I agree it's less, but no one is ever canning their hotel book. It's essentially a glorified sports bar for most hotel casinos.
What kind of rebates would I get if I put 10k at risk a week on baseball for nearly the whole season?Comment -

I think sports have to report how they spend the money and it has to be in approved ways though. I doubt the NFL would be fighting to get dollars for junior teams though..Comment -
