#6As if losing the Super Bowl weren’t bad enough, Rob Gronkowski returned to his posh Foxboro home Monday to find it had been broken into, police said.
The New England Patriots tight end called police at 6:18 p.m., reporting that while he was away, “multiple items” had been stolen, according to the Foxboro police log.
“Hello, this isn’t an emergency,” Gronkowski told the dispatcher in a short clip of his 911 call released by police. “This is just, this is Rob Gronkowski calling, and while I was gone, my whole house got robbed while on the Super Bowl trip, and I just got back.”
A dispatcher instructed officers to respond to Congdon Circle to talk to the homeowner, who reported “multiple safes and possible guns taken,” according to a police dispatch.

#8Shouldn’t he have a ton of security cameras around the house?
My house isn’t worth that much and I may at a time or too have too much cash on me. That’s why I have several HD cameras throughout the house (and outside). If anyone comes looking to take my stuff, they will be on video.Comment -

#16Probably not the robber's fault. I'm sure Gronk had one of these signs outside his house:

#28it was an inside job. his roomates set him up. turned off the security cameras and told the thieves they hired where everything was. gronk was either going to evict them since he is moving to hollywood or was going to raise their rent until he sells the house for his motion picture life in lala land.Comment -

#30yes, he had more than one to basically guard his spacious property when he wasn't around. probably charged them 100wk and got round the clock live security. foxboro police grilled the "roomates" for over 5 hours in separate rooms since access to his cul-dec-sac was gated with code numbers needed to open gate. it will come out that this was an inside job. roomates probably miffed that he is selling the house and moving to LA and not taking them with him. they can't replace their posh living existence themselves giving them a possible motive for committing this crime. at least that's what the local cops are thinking.Comment -

#31Yes sounds like inside job
These guys should live in high-rises where there’s tons of security and you don’t need anybody, many rich people all live in themComment -

#33he wanted to live close to stadium which is in the boondocks. probably realizes now it was a mistake. thought he was going to have wild parties and somehow got talked into buying this ridiculous house in which there are rooms where he has never stepped foot in. roomates probably unemployed so he probably gave them shelter in exchange for watching the place.Comment -

I know I'd go nuts, I need a gated back yard, I like my basketball half court setup as well which I have now.. Nothing like a front lawn and single family home privacy either.. Don't have to worry about people living above or below me...
Houses work for this guy... Get alarms, security camera's and most importantly side home flood lighting on sensors.. Those all deter robbers who are casing homes... I know I had to do it and did the research after a break in during the middle of the night. Nothing like seeing a dude dressed in all black in your home in the middle of the night, trust me on that.. I almost took a life that night and shot the dude in the back.. So close to pulling the trigger...Comment -

#35This... I lived in a high rise that several NBA players had homes for when they were in town, several singers/rappers and a bunch of oil tycoons. Full concierge service, dry cleaning, mail forwarding, food catering, round the clock security is perfect for people that are gone for months at a time. It makes zero sense for these single guys with no wife or kids to buy a big house that they'll never really use.Comment
