How About That Jockey Who Fell Off His Horse?!
We hope whoever the bettor is who lost over $571,000 on this heartbreaker that the new year gives you better luck. At Florida's Gulfstream Park, a horse was thisclose to winning a race and giving a single gambler the chance at a massive payday. But…

Interesting stuff here, boyz. If the horse wins some bettor takes home $570K, but the jockey falls off the horse 10 yards from the finish line. Whuh!

Some think he threw the race but that is absurd. He surely could have thrown the race by simply staying in the pack and not getting the horse out in the lead. What jockey wants to fall off his horse and then have the rest of the field trample over him?

If you watch real closely you'll notice that the horse got spooked and yanked left, sending the jockey tumbling. My theory is that someone from the track pointed a laser into the horse's eye, which spooked it.

BTW, check out the dumb camera-woman at the finish line who somehow didn't even snap a photo of this bizarre event. Hands down she wins WORST PHOTOGRAPHER OF 2017!

Ouch, looks like the jockey got hurt too.. Not a rig job, just fell off the horse when it jerked a bit.. Is what it is..

That would be a major let down if you bet that horse to win...

Someone had this horse to win for over 500k with basically a progressive jackpot at this track. Was the last race of the day and you have to pick all 6 winners, the guy picked the first 5

We've chronicled some absolutely horrific gambling losses since launching sports coverage here at Mediaite in July 2016. But this one might be the most brutal yet.

That would drive ya to drink for sure!!!!

He should have arb'd out with the number 2 or 3 horse favorites with every thing he had in his pockets... That way you don't leave the track empty handed most likely... Never get greedy on the back end of progressives when the payout is that large.. Arb arb arb and out.. Same with parlays on the last leg..

Not sure how you would arb out of that and I doubt he even tried

The initial bet is minimal for that progressive, so it's doubtful the guy had any sort of bankroll compared to over 500k

That horse that was about to win wasn't even a favorite to win that race

You could bet the 2 or 3 favorites on the last race trying to hedge and then none of your horses win so ur out a bunch of money and didn't hit the jackpot

Hedge not Arb out, you're right.. Just pick the next 2 or 3 favorites to win out right if the odds are really good and hope and pray a long shot doesn't win and you don't lose the progressive and other two large hedge bets... It's all gambling with the horses... I tend not to play them anymore or go to the track..
