Best of luck with the card. Interesting nugget; Race #3 at 9 furlongs on grass has only been ran ONCE in 5 years at Saratoga. For Claimers at least.

For Race 2 @ Saratoga, I really like the 4- Card Club (ML 20-1), had some early money, now is 15-1. I agree the favorite is definitely vulnerable.

Thoughts:

I had the #2 STEAMBOAT BILL earlier in meet, winning at a nice price on a soft lead, Just had a bullet Workout in the meantime going 5f, but the move up in class here is going to be tough. Will leave off ticket.

#3 Baratti Is a must use, 2nd off layup w/ those connections and Dropping...

#4 Dot Matrix I think will get the lead here, but not sure can wire this field, wouldn't be shocked wire to wire on the drop. will use in
horiztonals

#5 Packs a rocket late kick, but 9 month layoff is a concern, GArgan one of the best is these spots, Can't ignore and also 1-1 here

#6 moving up in class, and not crazy about the #'s jose will suck value out and I'll leave off the ticket

#7 Beaten Favorite in so so PID allowance race, just doesn't seem to fit here. 46 days off and asmussen would of had to do wonders for this one to factor, pass

#8 Strike Midnight is very capable, good numbers but doesn't fair well here and I have no problem leaving this horse off the ticket, first off the claim

#9 Harbor King just doesn't belong and don't see anything positive here

#10 Pletcher is dropping off the win, (going for the training title vs Chad??) Horse isn't taking money at the window and 46 days since last out, pass at the short price...

#11 Astute Warrior is an interesting horse, i think Englehart can get this long shot in the money under exotics...

My top selection is the 1A Caretaker, shorting up should really help here...

The #5 is extremely interesting @ a price, been working well and first start since the gelding... horse is 3 for 3 in the money on dirt w/ 88, 90 & 90 speed figures... 120k purchase by far the highest price in this field. Junior was aboard in debut when broke maiden at first asking, and out, junior got the leg up for the second, suffered a bump at the start and rallied late only losing by 3+, to a next out winner.

The layoff isn't as much of an issue, since due to the gelding...
