#3363I find it humorous that people who watch BTC all day clamor

What are the general guidelines or patterns that occur when gold and gold mining companies stock rises? There's a general pattern and an inverse.Comment -

I do wonder though with these high miner fees will these books or other books start pushing other cryptos.Comment -

#3375Originally posted by mrpapageorgioBetOnline and Bookmaker do off the top of my head (I wish they would advertise it on their pages as much as they do Bitcoin as a deposit/withdrawal method). Heritage "accepts" it, but charges a hefty conversion fee by the processor to convert it back to Bitcoin to complete the deposit. Bovada recently started taking Bitcoin Cash.

1. Books likely invested to some degree in btc, likely affecting ability to pay some
2. Transactions extremely slow
3. Most importantly nothing like withdrawing 5k in btc and by time it hitting your account being worth 3800Comment -

#3380Originally posted by mrpapageorgioThe US exchanges like Coinbase and Gemini as a condition of the licenses have to follow financial rules such as not facilitating online gambling so they have frozen accounts of people that have directly sent/received Bitcoin from online books (I'm guessing they have certain addresses flagged that the books reuse for deposits/withdrawals). That's why people use a personal wallet such as Blockchain to act as a middle man to hide the trail or where the Bitcoin is truly going/coming from.
i did the initial deposit over summer and have had 3-5 direct wd's from the book to gemini (book is 5d, idk if were not supposed to say that but whatever)
guess i'm asking if 5d knows what they're doing and it might now matterComment -

Either way, I know it sucks, but you might want to bite the bullet and start sending/receiving from an intermediary as a precaution and eat the miner fee when sending/receiving between the intermediary. If your book allows alt coins as a method of deposit such as ETH or Litecoin without an extra or high conversion fee, you might want to consider using that instead (good news is those two have miner fees less than $1 when sending).
Edit: Since you mentioned 5D, I'm assuming that's your main book. Unless they start allowing people to deposit using alt coins, you can either continue playing with fire or bite the bullet and use an intermediary wallet and pay the miner fees.Comment -

maybe not a question for you, but the dudes that really know this stuff
is there any reason why a book can't set itself up to take any currency or is it just a matter of effort and understanding?Comment -

At this rate if the Bitcoin miner fees keep going up, it might be cheaper to deposit using wire transfer if you're only depositing a few hundred at a time.Comment -

#3393Most books probably don't offer other options because they are satisified with the options they are offering and don't want to have to do more work/take on more risk by offering other options. There also isn't enough demand to make it worthwhile for them.
Edit: Looks like Bookmaker/ACR offer the exact same options. THey also use the exact same software.Comment -
