I am very pleased with Hollywood Video right now!

Just went in there to see what they had as far as used DVDs are concerned, and damn, what a deal.

Bunch of solid movies for $3.99 and $4.99, and all of the brand new just hit DVD movies were only $8.99 used.

Was pleasantly surprised that;

A) They all had ZERO scratches on the bottom of them
B) None of them had those "DO NOT REMOVE" stickers like Blockbuster did, there is no way to tell they were once Hollywood Video property
C) She said they came with a LIFETIME guarantee! What?? Apparently I can stroll in and return it (likely for store credit) in 5 years if it busts

Wasn't properly prepared today, only got 6 DVDs. Will go back sometime this week with guns blazing

I think there is something in the fine print that indicates that your "lifetime guarantee" automatically transfers over to BlockBuster in the event that Hollywood Video goes under and ceases to exist. I could be wrong.

they moved out of my neighbhorhood to consolidate with another store.... many have closed around Chicago... won't be around too much longer
