Nice auggestions. I think what appeals to me most is to stick my head in the sand and live my life and be happy. Unfortunately, that doesnt help my daughter have a better future. So Im stuck caring. The gop takes away womens rights like the abortion, contraceptive, planned parenthood, etc... The dems actually are probably the feminist and minority party, may as well call the dem party the aclu. So in a way I support what they're doing on thw feminist front, but it does nothing for me personally.

Probably gonna be a libertarian by the end of the day

      Hey K

I too, many years ago thought about the Libertarian party as an alternative. They supposedly have strong fiscal values and side with the liberals on social issues. The problem today is they verbalize almost nothing about social ideas. They are basically another branch of R party in my opinion. When was the last time you heard them speak seriously about social issues. Oh yes, they mention it but they almost always spend about 80 to 90% of their time on fiscal ideas. If they were 50/50 I would seriously consider them.

Hey did you get my PM?

I watch these kids rioting against trump and the immigration ban and cant identify with them, if that is being a liberal or Dem these days, thats not me.

I read 8 years of racist remarks towards obama and michelle and their two daughters, and now those same people are calling for walls to be built, Hard working Mexis to be deported for no real reason. If thats being conservative or Rep, I aint know Republican.

Im just a middle of the road, common sense man that believes in reigning in gov't spending across the board (yes even social programs), I am socially liberal, live and let live, I work hard and want to keep what I can, I like to travel and relax, love fly fishing. I want to see us in less wars and invest more in education, particularly STEM schools and degrees. I am pro-gun rights but think the nra has run a campaign to create uncecessary fear to drive memberships.

Doesnt seem like there is a party anymore that represents notmal people like me. Both parties and their followers have gone polar extremes and it makes me sick.
I'm chairman of the party party.

Kraken, you seem like an independent to me. There's nothing wrong with making up your mind on individual issues and not following a party line.

I'm OK with the Libertarian party myself.
Just luke warm though, they're too vanilla.
I'm a Ronnie Reagan republican, but I'm a tad sour on my party these days.

you're a common sense guy Steve, I remember discussing crap with you years ago. It is so refreshing to be able to discuss serious issues without one individual becoming a blatant asshole. I have no problem calling these people what they are, but I show respect to people who deserve it.

I am assuming you are sour because many of them, most of them simply turned their backs on long held views. That would make me crazy if I were a R.

Bat shit crazy, even if you hated Ronnie you knew where he stood.
Know what I loved the most about Ronnie, out of respect to the oval office he would never enter it without a suit jacket on.

I'm in Ct. one of the bluest of blue states, check out the resumes of all the top democrats in Connecticut.
Dan Malloy, law degree, Chris Murphy, law degree, Dick Blumenthal, law degree.

Stuttering Danny Malloy doesn't know jack about budgets, economics, etc. I want my leader to have a working knowledge of taxation, economics, not just how to try a hit and run case.

Plus lawyers are con men anyway.

Eisenhower wasn't the greatest president ever, but a genius military mind, no politician today doesn't have more than just a working knowledge of how a military is run.

Where's the next Teddy Roosvelt, greatest republican of all time.
He did it all, author, statesman, big time Navy man, (my old man was a great navy man) explorer, jack of all trades.
That's a man I can listen to when he speaks.

I'd even back a Harry Truman democrat if there's one drawing breath someplace.

I mean really? Trump and Hillary and Bernie and 6 guys named Mo was the best we could have done this election cycle.

                        Nice write up.

Eisenhower is underrated. T Roosevelt was probably the very first modern progressive, many of the absolute crazes don't know this. they name his as a great president and I agree and tell them about his progressive policies and they argue with me. lol

                        Be well!

Back at ya, you strike me as the guy who would cross party lines if the candidate was better than your party guy.
I've crossed party lines several times in local and state wide elections, but I break out in hives every time I think of my state leaders.
Hillary's hand picked guy Dan Malloy's answer to everything is tax. My mil rate is astronomical, do you know I have to pay a sales tax on my two cars worth on a YEARLY basis? Do you know they are considering a mileage tax on the amount of miles you drive on state roads? It's almost at the point where there are going to be taxes on taxes.

My puppy dog farted yesterday, I waiting for the invoice from Hartford in the mail for me to pay my puppy dog fart tax.

Know what the highest taxed city in the USA is?
(I'm in Fairfield, but you can throw a stone from where I'm at and it'll land in Bridgeport.

                          1. Bridgeport, Conn.
                          • Taxes for family earning $25,000: $4,001 (4th highest)
                          • Taxes for family earning $150,000: $33,208 (the highest)
                          • Unemployment rate: 7.8%

No large U.S. city had a higher tax burden than Bridgeport, where a family of three earning $150,000 a year paid more than 22% of its income in state and local taxes. However, the metro area, which includes affluent Fairfield County, is wealthier than much of the U.S. and was used to calculate home values and property burdens by the Office of Revenue Analysis. More than 20% of households had an annual income of at least $200,000, more than any other metro area reviewed. The city's high tax burden was due in large part to property taxes, as the area had both high home values and high effective property tax rates. Also propelling the city to the top of the list were Connecticut's relatively high income tax burden of 5.2% on families earning $150,000 per year as well a high tax burden for car owners.

I get this often "Billy, (real name William) just sell.
Yeah, if it was that easy, I couldn't get 60 cents on the dollar for my condo, why would one pay Zillow rate when one can buy a similar condo like mine in a short sale or foreclosure.
