Harder to be a moderator than an engineer

Yes it does sound silly but it's a much much more difficult job handling all the duties day today and all the personalities on a post forum.

I think many think it's easy but it is not, I was a hockey moderator and it was a lot of pressure and I did eventually get fired because they expected more with my knowledge even though I knew the game inside and out .

heck we had guys making 100 grand at other jobs quit to become moderators and could not last and went back to their other jobs

Of course the prestige of a moderator and the power is who so many want this job.

I highly doubt. The amount insane math you have to take just to be an engineer will make you insane and most will quit well before that. This jobs sound more like a fast food joint, deal complaints, idiots, pretend with fake smiles, the whole nine yards.

Coach being and Eng is one of the craziest, demanding and stressful jobs you can possibly have in today's world...it's a good thing, that you've never tried it. You really have to absorb stress like a sponge when you work as an engineer...especially somewhere in a startup environment.

Well I can only imagine it's a grinding job, the pay sucks if there is any, and you become disliked quickly if you start handing out infractions in an attempt to try and clean house..

Must have thick skin and be fair.. Reading all the posts everyday would drive me crazy.. I couldn't do it.. I'd ban everyone then shoot myself after..

Anytime my friend...one of the best things about for example software engineering is it's never too late to start learning and doing it.

You can become a brilliant coder at 40 or even 50 - just gotta put your mind to it.
