Definitely. Maeda has been getting shelled lately (15 ER in his last 4 starts over 13 2/3 IP (9.88 era)), probably tired. Same reason I was on the Cubs ML, RL, 5I ML, 5I RL (-.5), and 5I alt RL (-1.5) for Game 1. All 5 were winners.

Going to play all of them again. Dodgers can't hit lefties for shit and they're facing the best lefty in the game right now. I don't see Maddon pulling Lester with 70 pitches this time around. Lester for 8 then Chapman for the 9th, and Chapman is a lefty as well.

This game could get ugly, quick. Even if it doesn't the Dodgers can not hit left handed pitchers, and Lester with his .529 2nd half OPS, 1.76 2nd half ERA, and 11-1 record (in 16 2nd half/playoff starts) aren't going to make it any easier.


Cubs are 26-8 in Lester's starts this season. 14-2 in his 16 starts in the 2nd half/playoffs. Of those 14 wins, the Cubs average winning margin is 3.79.


Dodgers are 0-4 in their last 4 that Maeda started, with an average losing margin of 5.25.


I said it in Game 3 of the Nats series and Game 1 of the NLCS. I'll say it again. If you can get the a left handed SP as a non-massive favorite against the Dodgers then you take it.
