Is MLB playoffs a viable answer as to when this system could really work if you're handed a 90 win team at +130-160 every night?

In Vegas 10.13-10.17 to give it a shot at $500 units.

3 game sweep in the first round is hardly difficult. There's been plenty in the best of 7s the last few seasons also from memory.

Assumed you were talking series martingale, you mean take the dog every game no matter the series?

I would only ride the same team in a series if it was up 3-1, then double till they closed out.

In taking the dog I'd look to diversify in leagues and teams, and in theory a 3 game sweep would involve the dog winning one game. Even the Cubs won't be road favorites in LA when the time comes.
