    Blogs as capping help
Many blogs out there. Most not very good, but some very helpful. Such as this one for the Phoenix Suns, kept up by a reporter:

This gives the very latest info about the team, injuries, coaching, starting lineup, etc. I'm trying to put together a list of similar quality blogs for all NBA and NFL teams. Preferably by reporters who have direct access to the latest team news. After doing a search I realized this is not as easy as it sounds, because of the many blogs kept up by fans. So I would appreciate any good links you might know about. Thanks!

Thanks for that read. Some of the quotes are nice, but this Phoenix team is a pretty easy one to read so far this year.

Such a list of blogs is an excellent idea, DH. Weeding through all the garbage out there is a real timedrain.

It's a great idea. On the NBA side, I would give a lot for a reliable listing of the one or maybe two on-line sources per team that will give you a feel for how the team reacted to the most recent game and is planning for the next one. Or maybe, maybe a really smart fan site would do the trick.

The problem is to avoid all the crap. And all the stuff that's just filling newspaper space. I know I live in a city with, bar none, the laziest NBA beat writer working for any daily paper in the country.

I wish I had a couple of particular links to contribute, but I don't yet. Here's where I go to begin poking around.

Good thread. I keep very close tabs on local newspapers, also. In the NFL it's critical to get the pulse of the team. I subscribe to some of the premium content sites - most notably Packer's Insider (a few journalists keep blogs on there and do chats). You get really good inside info. It's a shame most of the 'good' content for the major local news sites is 'premium' only, though.

As for other sports 'blogs', it definitly is very hard to find consistent ones. Good post.

i started listening to a podcast from a couple of guys from guys from Canada just b4 the NBA season, their previews were pretty good. One of the guys bets on the games and posts 1 game a day ATS on their website. He's doing terrible right now, but I enjoy their stuff. Check them out at thebasketballjones.net

They had a few bloggers on for their team previews, I'll see if I can dig them up.
