That's cause they hadn't lost 5 straight home games since 1978. They also hadn't swept the Cubs @ Wrigley since 1988. You just flat out ran into some bad luck with those two streaks. I wasn't alive the last time those two things occurred for some reference and they both happened back to back, unreal man.

Cards are a sleeper team this year. If they get a WC spot they could easily roll a better team in the playoffs. Wainwright and Wacha are back to normal after horrific Aprils and Diaz and Piscotty are legit prospects turned productive MLB pros. If they can get Grichuk figured out that just adds more depth and a power bat off the bench. Remember he jacked a couple HRs off of Kershaw in the playoffs so he's clutch. They need to try and acquire another pitcher @ the deadline. Bullpen seems to be shaky which is ironic cause that's been the consistency on the team the past few seasons, now it's seemingly the weakness. Offense looks great and they've haven't had hardly any production from Wong or Grichuk this season. I wanna see what they can do with everyone in the lineup clicking together.
