This should be interesting, might be the first game of the season on Thursday night.

Should be either Carolina or New England at Denver opening Thursday.

Carolina would seem unlikely as I can't recall any Super Bowl rematches in that game ever.

New England would be the front-runner. KC maybe. Indy outside shot.

Frosty we won big. Broncos all the way to super 50 champs. Sometimes NFL fixes are that simple. Let's relax and enjoy

That is because they do not happen very often, could only happen when the right interconference divisions get matched up the season after the Super Bowl AND the team that won the Super Bowl has to be home.

Exactly, this is a rare occurrence. What you normally would see is a rematch of the best playoff game from the 2016 year instead. I would rather see this game as the first, since everyone would be healthy for this one. You would see the Broncos with All Pro Ryan Clady back, while the Panthers will have Kelvin Benjamin at Wide Receiver.

If Manning announces he's returning before the schedule is released, it will be NE.

How on God's green earth can you proclaim everyone will be healthy?

While Denver will open on Thursday Night at home, it is rare that teams open up the season on a Thursday Night against a team from the other conference. Look for Denver to open up against someone who they defeated in the AFC Playoffs. Last season New England opened up against Pitt, so we may see a repeat for one of those two clubs.

Only because super bowl rematches with the super bowl winner being home have been rare. Without looking it up, it is possible that this is the first time that a Super rematch to open the year is even possible since the tradition started of defending champs hosting opening game.

Denver and Seattle played in Seattle the season following their Super Bowl.

Right I remember now. League opted to open up with Green Bay / Seattle instead, rematch of the Referee Game. But in this case this year, not that many great backstories to the other potential matchups and not sure if league wants to open with New England two straight years. We shall see.

I think the Seahawks played the 49ers instead. It's all about ratings and the Public didn't wanted to see a Seahawk/Broncos rematch. If it's Broncos Patriots, then the NFL will have the Panthers game down the road. The flipside to that is, what if both team suck by the time week 6 rolls around and they put them on Sunday night. Since that was a good game, I would really like to see if Cam can redeem himself in the opener. Heck if he loses again, the Panthers might never recover.

So the Thursday game will be one of these playoffs teams. Chiefs, Patriots, Houston, or Carolina. Since the got the Bengals on the road next year. The Broncos 2016 schedule looks pretty favorable, they could go easily 11-5.

One non-playoff possibility is Indy. and I seriously doubt they will take Houston so just substitute Colts for Texans on your possibilities.
