With the cap blowing up this year he would get a huge payday out in the open market. Maybe he doesn't need the big bucks, just wants a ring or two then pack it in. Who knows?

Also the Warriors are Steph's team. He's their leader and best player and once he sign his max deal he will be the highest paid, and that's the way everyone on the team wants it. Where does Durant fit in?

He'd be such a fukking pussy to do this. 10x worse than LeBron in 2011. It would be such a disaster for the league.
Hopefully they veto it like that Chris Paul thing if that sign and trade happens.

They can't veto something like this. Would be totally against the CBA I'm sure.

Doubt he goes to Washington or Golden State.
Not all players want to go home. He played college ball at Texas.
It's most likely he stays but if he does leave, he probably goes to LA.

Chris Paul veto was awful. That trio was no better than Miami's. Stern and the owners were just sick of Bryant dominating the league. Pure bullshit. Then Dantoni runs Bryant into the ground to try and make playoffs with a pure shit roster. Fukking guy ruined Bryant's career, playing a 34 year old 40 42 minutes a night, sometimes plalying him like all 48 minutes. He'd still be putting up 25 a game today if it wasn't for that veto and Dantoni's dumbass.
BTW, what was wrong with Lebron joining with Wade? The simple fact was Cleveland and Gilbert weren't bringing in star free agents to Cleveland and weren't getting quality players in the draft would be frustrating for a player. Should a player have to play for the franchise that drafted him if they're not dedicated to winning? I definitely don't think so.
Lebron was never going to win a ring with that Cleveland team. If he stayed there, Cleveland would have never even gotten Irving either.
Is Aldridge going to the Spurs a puss move? I don't think so. Guy is 30 years old, has been a premier pf in the nba for the last 7 years, and has never come close to winning a ring. Most of that falls on the fact that the team can't draft good enough and can't attract enough quality free agents. He doesn't owe the Trailblazers anything. He didn't ask to get drafted by them.

The Paul veto was awful, agreed, and cost us a chance to see Kobe one more time in the finals. I just brought it up cause it was the only such occurrence I could think of. This wouldn't technically be the same situation, but it would have to be a sign-and-trade, he wouldn't straight up sign with the Warriors.
What LeBron did is widely seen as a pussy move. I'm not really sure, kinda torn on that. But if it was, Durant joining up with Curry would be 100x worse.

KD staying put
Living in Miami or LA not a big deal anymore, he can spend the offseason there, he owns a place in Miami and spends tons of time there, no reason to move there
He'll get a max deal anywhere, plus moving to a bigger market will not offer him anymore endorsement deals, not these days. The world is small now, living in NYC doesn't offer much benefit over OKC

I think guys like Durant just care about winning rings at this point. It's not about going to a great city, or making a lot of money. Look at David West. The guy could have made 11 million dollars from the Pacers this year. Instead, he joins the Spurs for 1.2 million.
I think OKC getting to the finals and getting bitch slapped by Wade and Lebron wasn't a wake up call for them. I still see them playing the same style of basketball 5 years later.
Honestly, there's absolutely no reason why OKC shouldn't be the best team in the NBA. They have 2 of the top 5 players in the world on one team. For that to happen is very rare. Before that there was Lebron and Wade, before that Shaq and Kobe, before that Magic and Kareem (maybe, that's pushing it even). Look what they were all able to accomplish.
It's pretty ridiculous. OKC has a solid supporting cast, but both guys are obsessed with holding the ball. When Miami lost that first championship to Dallas, you could see a lot of that type of bball. They quickly adjusted. Quick passes, strong cuts, motion offense, lock down defense.
How does OKC give up 115 points to the Magic tonight? Kidding me? Lebron and Wade in their primes would never allow teams to score over 100 with such consistency.

I don't think it'd be a good move for the Warriors. They don't even need Durant. He plays no defense. I guess they'd think about letting Barnes leave and plugging in Durant, but I still wouldn't think he'd make them that much better. They have one of the greatest teams ever that is a purely functional team (Klay and Steph score, Green passes, Iggy/Barnes/Green do all the defensive dirty work). I just don't see Durant fitting in there. There's not enough shots to go around for Curry, Klay, and Durant on the same team.

If he goes to the Warriors not only does it improve a great team, but it eliminates another contender in OKC by taking away their superstar. Process of elimination.

Agreed. It will be basically new team with him. They would need more than a bunch of games to find chemistry in this new lineup. Why ruin what they already have.......

great player, but the warriors dont need him. if he goes there i think he's gonna mess the flow up on offense. just because there are a buncha superstars on one team dont mean they're good. look at the cavs lol the cavs are a joke. i'd be surprised if they can get through the raptors or boston in the playoffs.

You people need to stop with these Cavs are a joke stuff. Any Eastern conference team that has Lebron in its team is going to the finals. PERIOD!
Do people actually think they can be stopped by Raptors, Boston, Chicago, Indiana in a 7 game series? Not a chance!
The only teams in the nba that matches them in a playoff series are Warriors, Spurs, OKC and maybe Clippers(with Griffin)
Yeah I wouldn't want to lose him or Iguodala. Barnes has a lot of potential but he hasn't really taken the step forward I was hoping for this year, and Durant would obviously be an offensive upgrade (on paper) that could fill Barnes' place at the 4 in their small ball lineup.
But considering scoring has never been a problem for the Warriors, what exactly does Durant bring to the table? How valuable is he when he's not getting 19 FGA per game? I've always liked Durant and Westbrook, but it seems like the thing that's held them back as a duo is the fact that they both need the ball in their hands to be effective.
