They add to stress. Cleaning up piss, shit and vomit. Scooping poop out of the yard/ litter boxes. Worrying if they
will get hit by a car or grabbed by a coyote. If they make it to a ripe old age, they die. Adding more stress.
Not to mention the cost involved. Feeding and vet care.

After all that, it's worth it. Nothing like having your pal(s) hang with you after a rough day, doesn't bitch at you,
gives you unconditional love and keeps you warm at night.
