his appeal is that he is so anti Bush/ Cheney / Karl Rowe / Romney / Dole/FOX news / Rush / etc etc , anti normal Red state presidential choices , that a large segment of the Republican base can finally get their heads out of the sand look around at something more reasonable and finally see a path forward.

He also seems like a guy that would have a beer with you, you feel you know him (you really dont but it feels you do) cause you seen him on reality TV, red carpet events, twitter etc. even though nobody has any shot at getting that close. Its a different era for sure.
