    Au Revoir Monsieur Gainey.

Don't be sad Nicky. It's for the best of the team moving forward. Letting go his D for nothing basically put you guys in rebuild mode for the next few years. Wait until Komisarek leaves via free agency and other players walk because the new GM will likely be another dud.

Guy Carbonneau was doing pretty good.. he was barely coach of the year last year with a bunch of no names. Gainey then decides he wants to be a hero and fires his best friend..this after habs were 6-2 in previous 8 games and were just off a win.. IT BACKFIRED big time.. now carbo is loving it and is laughing and you know he's happy as hell. gainey deserved it.. now he's out of a job, 100000% and might be gone from hockey forever.. nobody will want him. he's a loser now..

what goes around comes around.. you fire your long time pal so you can be the hero here, and now you're done forever in the NHL.

Gainey's demise started when he didn't get the signature of Souray and Streit on a contract. Things also turned bad this season when the 4 young kids turned to cocaine and he turned a blind eye to it all. I won't go there right now though.

Another thing Gainey (and coach) should have done was stripped Koivu of the "C" and give it to someone else like Komisarek or even Kovalev who seemed to shine when he temporarily wore the "C" when that rudderless leader Koivu was injured.

          Frig I know my hockey!!!

Letting Mark Streit go was this teams downfall
Im telling you right now they where a totally different team with his shot & way he ran the PP-You just dont replace 50+ points & the way a PP Goal turns a playoff game around

Couldn't agree more. The guy was extremely underrated, and is a much better defensemen than most gave him credit for. The Habs never used him correctly.

Thats a bad thing as they might improve with him gone, that would truly be terrible.

Then again half the team are free agents this summer, hopefully the habs get worse.

Gainey was a solid NHL player but was surrounded by very good players which made him better than he actually was. His feet were ok but not the fastest skater you will find as a defensive player.

Worst thing you can do is get so called hockey names especially from the team they played to be part of a team other than a player, they usually are flops.

Worst thing you can do is get so called hockey names especially from the team they played to be part of a team other than a player, they usually are flops.
